(Y/n)'s POV

"Hey, wake up.."

I heard a familiar voice but didn't bother listening as I shifted to the side. "Get away... Ya old man.." I muttered as I tried to get back to sleep. He sighed and stroke my hair.

"I know it's early but you need to eat your breakfast." He said. I sighed and sat up.

"I'm up..." I groaned. He nodded and stood up as I went to grab my set of kimono for the day.

"We'll meet you outside." He said. I didn't paid much mind into it as I began changing. Then, I was consumed by my thoughts.

"I wonder what would happen if I arrived earlier..." I thought out loud.

'We could still be a happy family... I would still spend time with them... I would be eating breakfast with them right now... All because I'm a coward I didn't even run in to save them...'

*knock knock*

"Hey, hurry up in there. Your breakfast is getting cold." I heard a monotone voice, making me snap out of my daze. After that he just walked away with me opening the shoji.

I groaned. 'Why am I even here in the first place? Why did father wanted me to be here to begin with?' I asked myself as I dragged myself to the fire place. I closed my eyes as I used my other senses to guide me.

"Ah, good, your faster than I expected." Old man said, I can sense that he's pouring green tea. Hope it's not for me cuz I'm not in the mood for tea bisshhhh. (A/n: sorry for the tea lovers out there but I'm a coffee person.)

"I'm in a mood for black coffee. Do you have some?" I asked.

"Sorry, no." A person softly replied.

"We'll be heading to a small village later! You can join us to buy your needs!" A cute cherry voice was heard. I felt two unknown presence with Tomioka and Old man in the room.

I decided to open my eyes to see whom it was. Two kids, wearing the same kitsune warding mask on their forehead. The two of them sat in between old man as Tomioka sat across the boy.

The boy had salmon coloured hair, a scar on right cheek, soft caring purple hue eyes and a dedicated smile on his face. He looks like 12 ish.

Then, an adorable girl with ravenette hair, beautiful teal eyes and the same delicate smile as the previous Salmon boy, maybe the same age as me, maybe bigger.

I don't know! I can't predict someone's age just by looking at them. I'm not smart but I'm an idiot either. Heh.

I shrugged at the girls offer. "I'll pass, I need to save my money for future needs." I said as I sat beside Tomioka. Grabbing the bowl in front of me, I noticed I forgotten something.

"Oh, and good morning." I said, bluntly as I ate my breakfast.

They all responded with different tones of good morning's. Some blunt, some just doesn't care but wanna be kind in front of others, some are just kind, some just be like 'uh huh morn'.

As I ate my breakfast in silence, the others were having a quite happy conversation which I have no part of. Of course I don't.

'I don't belong here.
I don't have a home...
A happy place...
A place to make new happy memories with my love ones... Gone... Vanish...
And it's all my fault...'

I mentally sighed and placed my finished breakfast on the floor. I clasped my hand and bowed as I excused myself to go back to my room. I went back to my now designated room and wore my haori.

I groomed my hair with a wooden comb my mother made. Then, I arranged my hair into a high ponytail and placed the Dragon Jade hairpin as support.

"(Y/n), it's okay to make mistakes. That's what makes us humans. But by making mistakes, you'll have to make it up with your actions."
-Mother

I grabbed both of my Katana.

"Continue our legacy, (Y/n). Your a Ryūsei. Our family holds no shame. Don't be afraid to tell others your a Ryūsei." -Father

I grabbed hold of the katana's and secured them with a rope on my waist. It's odd to have two swords at both of your hips but I can't just leave it here. I don't even know them, I was taught not to trust people easily.

After looking myself in the mirror, I opened the shoji and walked towards the front door. As I got there, I slipped into my (A/n: dms) geta. I tapped the floor using it take make it more stable.

"Ah! Kohai-san, your coming with us after all?" A cheery voice asked. It is now proven she is older than me.

"I'll have to reject your request. I don't want to wast-"

"I wouldn't count buying necessities as a waste of money, (Y/n)-san." Tomioka said. An irk mark grew on my forehead.

"Then, may I know where your heading?" The older boy asked, his arm draped on the girls shoulder whom is more shorter than the boy.

"Training." I said, bluntly as I went to open the door. I stopped when I felt a tug on my wrist.

"Please, Kohai-san?" The girl pleaded. Immediately a memory was played in my mind.

-------

"Nee-chan~! Please please please pretty please?" Young Shota pleaded with puppy eyes as he swung Young (Y/n)'s left wrist. Her right hand holding a sharp Nichirin sword.

"Alright alright I will, I will! Just let go of me, Shota, you're making me dizzy!" She said in between laughs. He didn't hesitate and quickly nodded. He some steps back.

She grabbed hold of her Katana. She turned her head. "I'm only letting you see this once alright? Don't tell mom or nee-chan!" She said as he rapidly nodded.

Young (Y/n) smiled and turned her head to the front. She got into a stance as she narrowed her eyes at the tree in front of her.

"Dragon Breath... Second Move... LIMB REMOVAL!" She exclaimed.

In a blink of an eye, she cutted all of the branches of the tree and the tree it self, making it to a stump.

Young (Y/n) placed all of it to the side. She landed back to where she once stood and placed her sword back to it's scabbard. She turned her head to see Shota's reaction.

He's mouth was open, his eyes sparkling and watching at the stump in awe. Then, he's gaze landed on the 9 year old girl.

"That's so cool, Nee-chan!! When I grow up, I'm gonna be just as cool as you!" He exclaimed as he made some punching action. The said girl chuckled and patted his head.

"Go on then! I'll be cheering for you!" She gave him a soft genuine smile. He immediately nodded in determination.

"Let's be Demon Slayer's together, Nee-chan!" He exclaimed as he extended his right pinky finger. The girls eyes widened a bit but turned into a soft expression.

"I'll be waiting." She said, wrapping her pinky finger with his.

--------

'I didn't keep our promise...' I thought as I stared directly into the girls eyes. Something about her just reminds of Sho...

I softly smiled. "I guess training can wait.." I said.
