Riley's POV

I'd been staying with Michelle for 2 weeks. Things were finally starting to get back to normal. I'll never be able to thank her and her family for everything they've done for me in the past 2 weeks. They transferred me to a new school, convinced me to get rid of that ridiculous nose ring, let me buy an entire wardrobe of new clothes and shoes, let me get all new makeup, jewelry. Way more than I could ever ask for. In fact, they even insisted on doing those things for me. I was currently sat in the room they'd let me stay in, working on my homework. There was a knock at my door, and I called for whoever it was to come in. Michelle entered, smiling at me. "Are you gonna dress up and come hang out downstairs for my birthday?" She asked, walking over to the closet to pull out a dress for me.
"I would love to, but I'm sure no one downstairs would like to hang out with me, so I'd better not." I told her. "I also think it wouldn't be good for me to be in an environment with alcohol." I added, eyeing the red cup in her hands. She glanced at it, hiding it behind her back before speaking again.
"I'm not really a huge fan of your sister anyways, I wouldn't mind making her uncomfortable." She said. I rolled my eyes.
"I don't want to get dragged back into drinking again." I replied. "Plus we agreed I wouldn't make an appearance, remember?"
"I understand, and yes I remember. I'm glad you're back to your usual self." She grinned at me. A loud shattering noise turned both of our attention to the door. "I better go see what happened." Michelle told me, and I nodded, before she hurried away downstairs again. I turned back to my homework, when I heard the door open again.
"Michelle, did you forget what you were doing already?" I laughed, knowing how her memory gets when she's tipsy. But when I turned to the door, it wasn't Michelle standing there.
"Riley?"

Michelle's POV

I opened the door to Riley's room the next morning to tell her I'd let her know when the last of A troupe had left. She was scared they'd be upset with me for not telling them she'd been staying with me, so we'd decided it would just be better if no one saw her. I was surprised to see Riley not in her room. But someone was. I closed the door quietly, wandering down the hallway. I noticed the bathroom door was closed and locked. I knocked on it lightly. There was no response. "It's Michelle." I called through the door. I heard the lock click, before the door creaked open. Riley was standing in the bathroom, looking nervous. She licked her lips, fiddling with her fingers. "What's going on? Why are you so anxious? And why is he in your room?" I questioned. Riley sighed.
"Okay don't freak out." She said, causing my eyes to widen.
"That's never good." I stated. Riley swallowed the lump in her throat.
"We might've.... Somehow on accident......... Had sex....." She stumbled. My mouth fell open in shock.
"Riley Elizabeth Carter!" I exclaimed, causing her to shush me.
"A troupe is still passed out downstairs! I saw them when I went to get water. Some of them are light sleepers! I don't need you waking them up!" She whisper-yelled.
"What.... What were you thinking?! He was hammered! He won't remember this!" I whispered.
"I know. It was a mistake. But it's better this way. Now no one will know and I can, mostly, keep my reputation." Riley reasoned. I sighed.
"Riley..." I trailed off, shaking my head. This seemed like a relapse to her other self, not a step forward.
"It was his idea!" She defended herself, crossing her arms.
"You know what, it's not my place to say anything." I stated.
"Especially since I heard you with Eldon last night." Riley mumbled, causing my cheeks to turn red. Now that was a mistake.
"Anyways." I said, indicating I didn't want to elaborate on the Eldon situation. "Where did you get the protection?" I asked her. Riley froze, her eyes widening.
"Oh my god. I don't think we used any. Oh my god!" She panicked, covering her mouth with her hands.
"Hey, it's okay. I'll run out once everyone leaves and get you plan B." I told her, honestly feeling a little relieved to see the control-freak Riley coming through again. Riley sighed, smiling slightly at me.
"Thank you."
