Chapter 35

"Is it normal for a hangover to last two days?" I asked.

"I don't think so. But you drank like ten bottles of vodka, I wouldn't be surprised if it lasted a month." Dani answered as she curled my hair.

"So, uh, what happened, while you know, we weren't talking?" I stuttered nervously. She took a deep breath.

"Well, at first we all thought maybe you were asleep and didn't answer. Louis waited a few hours and called again, but you didn't answer. I told him to relax and that you weren't by the phone at the moment. First thing the next morning, I called you while Lou was still sleeping. This time your phone was off. I didn't think much of it, it could have been out of power.

And that's how it continued. We'd call, your phone would go straight to voicemail. We all started to get nervous, especially when you didn't answer the house phone. Niall and Harry were convinced that you were either dead or kidnapped.

Liam called up Brad and had him check up on you, he told us that you were perfectly fine and alive. That's when Lou realized something was seriously wrong. After the third week, we all came to a conclusion you were ignoring us for a reason, that reason being you hated us and didn't want to talk to us anymore. So we gave up trying to get in touch with you." she explained.

"I'm sorry." I whispered, trying to prevent myself from crying.

"Don't cry! You're going to ruin your makeup!" Dani scolded. I cracked a smile. "We all understand now though. I think a weight has been lifted off our shoulders, we can live freely now. No worries for the rest of our days."

"You sound like you're from The Lion King." I giggled.

"Where do you think I got that line from?" she asked sarcastically, spraying my hair with hairspray. "Go get in your dress. Time to see my baby girl graduate!"

"Really, Dani? Baby girl? You're only like 4 years older than me."

"Just go get changed."

I watched as students were being called onto the stage to get their diplomas. But I was left in a state of confusion when they skipped my name. I was supposed to graduate, I received the cap and gown. I got straight A's. I should be getting a diploma.

They finished the last of the student, and I sat there anxiously. My principle stepped up to the podium and shuffled his papers.

"I'd like to congratulate all of the graduates for making it this far, but I have one student who stands beyond the rest. She isn't exactly what you call a 'Perfect Student'. She's been to my office more than I have in the past 3 years. She's sarcastic and rude, but somehow she makes all the students laugh. This girl has ditched school over 45 times, has been suspended 21 times and has been arrested once or twice. And somehow she had passed all of her classes with perfect scores. There is something different about this student and I'm honestly glad to say that she attended my school. Arielle Mihalic? Come up here please." he spoke.
