minho quietly got out of his window and stepped onto the ladders, making sure to leave the window slightly open. he went down the ladders, and hopped onto the grass.
he glanced at his parents' window before leaving his yard, starting to head towards the park. he felt nervous. he didn't really know how to encounter hyunjin, after what had happened. he was scared that the other one would be angry with him, and in the back of his head he thought that the other wouldn't want to have anything to do with him anymore.
minho was approaching the park step by step, not even bothered by the darkness around him, because his thoughts were only focused on hyunjin.
and that's all that he had been thinking about the past few days.
even if he tried, he couldn't stop thinking about the other boy. it felt like his brain was just screaming hyunjin at him, and wouldn't shut up. minho groaned, thinking about when he let it get this far.
minho's heart started to beat fast, as he could see the park in his sight. he got closer to it, and stopped in his tracks when he saw hyunjin standing there, waiting for him.
minho could see hyunjin's familiar features in the dark, the wind swaying his black hair around. minho took a deep breath, before slowly walking towards the other boy.
hyunjin soon noticed minho walking towards him and he straightened his back, looking at him. minho stopped right in front of him, too nervous to look up at him. a moment passed, and he looked up, seeing hyunjin's eyes looking into his.
"hey" hyunjin said quietly.
"hi" minho answered, his voice almost coming of as a whisper.
minho looked down, not daring to look at the other in the eyes. hyunjin took a deep breath, before starting to talk.
"minho, i just wanna tell you that i'm... i'm really sorry."
minho looked up at him, scanning his face.
"i freaked out and didn't know what to do, and i was so confused and scared and-" he stopped to take a deep, shaky breath.
minho's eyes widened, as he saw tears starting to form in hyunjin's eyes.
"shit, i know it's not right for me to cry, you're the one that got hurt but i'm just..." he said before breaking into tears in front of minho. he put his hands in front of his face, covering his face and crying into his hands.
minho stepped closer to hyunjin. he took hyunjin's hands away from his face, and pulled the other boy in his arms, hugging him.
"calm down, i'm not mad at you" minho said. hyunjin put his arms tightly around minho's back, sobbing into his shoulder.
"i don't know why i'm crying.." hyunjin whimpered between his sobs. "i know i was acting stupid, i just didn't know what to do" he cried out. "sorry for leaving and not answering you."
the sobs that escaped hyunjin's mouth broke minho's heart. hyunjin has never been this vulnerable in front of minho. he's always tried to be so strong, hiding his weaknesses and keeping all these feelings hidden deep inside him, and now it's all breaking out.
"i understand" minho assured him.
hyunjin felt embarrassed for crying so hard in front of the other, but he felt like it was just all coming out and he couldn't control it.
"i missed you" hyunjin admitted, gasping for air between his sobs. minho tightened his arms around the other.
"it really felt like... i was longing for you, i couldn't stop thinking about you" hyunjin said in a really quiet voice, almost scared to say it out loud.
a few tears escaped minho's eyes too, as the other one was crying his heart out to him. he kept caressing hyunjin's back to calm him down.
"i'm sorry" hyunjin said again after he had calmed down a bit, tightening his arms around minho.
"hyunjin, i'm sorry too" minho told him.
"why are you sorry?" he asked, sniffling.
"i should've been more careful with you, not giving into the moment only because i wanted to" he explained. "when i was thinking about how you must've felt the past few days, i felt so worried. you must have been so confused and alone, and i wasn't there to help you."
hyunjin took a grip of minho's shirt on his back, squeezing it tight.
"minho.." he said, "i'm fine. i'm here now, aren't i? you didn't do anything wrong. okay?"
minho tightened his arms around him, nodding his head slightly.
hyunjin let out a shaky breath, slowly pulling away from minho. he pressed his forehead against the other's, breathing in the same air as him. both of their face's were stained with tears, looking at each other in the eyes.
"i missed you" minho whispered. he felt so nervous, nervous to show himself to hyunjin.
"i missed you too" hyunjin said, bringing his hand to minho's head, caressing it softly. "you know, it's scary. scary to show my feelings, to anyone. but i'm tired of it. i want to show my true self to you, minho."
minho nodded, closing his eyes. "i want to show my true self to you too."
"yeah?" hyunjin whispered, his breath still a bit shaky.
minho nodded his head. "yeah."
"do you forgive me?" hyunjin asked.
"you were already forgiven in the first place" minho said. "do you forgive me?"
hyunjin leaned in closer to minho, carefully pressing a kiss on his forehead. he pulled away, looking at minho with his teary eyes.
"how could i not?" he said. he brought his hand to minho's face, brushing some hair away from his eyes and sliding some hair behind his ears.
minho closed his eyes, breathing out a shaky breath. he leaned himself on hyunjin, burying his head in his neck.
"you're too good to me" minho whispered.
there were still some tears going down hyunjin's cheeks, and he smiled a bit.
"no i'm not" hyunjin whispered back at him. minho didn't dare to answer him anymore so he just kept silent and moved his head a bit to rest it on hyunjin's shoulder and put his arms around him.
they stayed like that for a while, and let the last drops of tears come out of their eyes. minho didn't know where their relationship was going, but in that moment, in each other's arms, he felt relieved. he knew that it was going to be okay.
