Lapis POV

I was sitting down on the couch carefully holding Peridot's gem, I rubbed my thumb gently up against the area where the crack was. It had completely healed and none of that blue energy was coming out of it anymore, however that wasn't what I was worried about. I have never seen a gem be able to rip their gem out of its spot and stay formed for that long, back then it took her a few minutes to poof after she blacked out. Even Steven didn't know what it meant, speaking of him he was currently resting at the Beach house with his dad. He mentioned how he was probably gonna stay there for a couple of days then go on the road again.

The burn he got was still there but he cleaned up and assured that it would be okay, he also mentioned how he didn't have full control of his hand after it got hit. I mentioned that it was an effect of the energy and he just needed to grab something magnetic and it would transfer. However I was still worried about Peridot, would she ever reform? Would she reform but cause that form to come out again?

My mind raced as I saw a small green light shine from my hands, my eyes widened as it floated into the air and Peridot started to form. Once the light went away I opened my eyes and saw the smaller Peridot that had cemented herself in my heart. She was standing a bit awkwardly twiddling with her thumbs and looking up to me, I gave her a warm smile and held my arms out toward her. She immediately ran forward almost jumping onto me, I held her close to me as I smiled and rested my head on her hair.

She dug her head into me holding on to me for dear life, I could hear some quiet sobs coming for her. After a while I picked her up setting her down on the couch cupping one of her cheeks with my hand and said " do you wanna talk about it?" She slowly nodded her had and took a deep breath as she started saying " Well, while I was reforming I did some thinking. I'm sorry for what I said, what I've done, and how I acted. At the time I didn't know that I didn't have to be strong to be useful. I realized that my accomplishments when I was like this were much greater than anything I could've done like that. After all if I was still super tall I couldn't or fit in the machine I built to reach the cluster. I also figured that me being like this would make you happy and well, that's a good enough reason to stay like this. "

I smiled warmly at Peridot when she said all of that, she never gave herself any credit when she deserved it but now she was! And it is amazing, I brought her in for a hug but then I laid down dragging her up my body so that way she'd be laying on top of me. I held her close and noticed the slight blush growing across her face, I calmly said " You deserve so much more you give yourself credit for. I'm just glad your back and that we're together. " Peridot's blush didn't go away when I leaned my head forward and kissed her gem, she only grew more embarrassed and started to stay

" Well, now that we're really together what should we do? I also believe that I'm good enough health to start teaching again. Besides I want to check if Garnet had been taking care of the plants correctly. " I chuckled a bit at the end, I would be lying if I said that I wasn't worried for Peridot trying to teach again, but I camly responded with " Don't worry Peridot, if any one goes out of line in your class I'll make sure to put them back into line. "

Peridot shook her head now getting up off me and standing up on the floor saying " I've actually thought about that, I came up with a little system. So while I'm teaching I could use my powers to keep saw blades levitating in the air! Then whenever someone would start to goof off BAM! They're gonna get a bad really bad haircut!" I was definitely a bit worried at the beginning but I knew Peridot wouldn't have ill intentions like that, so I chuckled a bit and said " Geez I'd be scared if I were them, but I'm gonna be supervising your first class just to see everything's going good, that alright? It was Garnet's idea. " Peridot nodded saying

" Yeah that's fine, the worse thing that could come from that is me getting distracted by you, but then again that happens quite often~" I was not expecting a slight flirt from Peridot, I blushed up a bit and stood up staring her down. She thought she had done something wrong but I soon smiled saying " Well, then you better get your head together so that way it doesn't happen " Peridot nodded but then she realized something and looked up at me saying " Speaking of plants, I was wondering if we could get some things needed for an outside garden for this house! It would really liven things up and be a good stress reliever for when we need it "

I nodded now getting up and going over to Peridot, I rested both of my hands on her shoulders as I looked down into her eyes and said " That's an adventure for tomorrow, for now I think I want some Peri time, wanna watch camp pining hearts?" Peridot lit up nodding as she scrambled over to the box that held all the tapes as she said " I've been wanting to re-re-re-rewatch it! " I smiled saying " Me too Peri, me too "
