So, Now What? (Steven Universe) (Lapidot)

Let Go

Peridot POV

Once we heard the pods crash down we immediately put down our clubs and I was almost paralyzed by fear. What if they landed in little homeworld? What if they're taking those gems in it as prisoners? We couldn't let that happen. Lapis summoned her water wings and kneeled down saying " C'mon Peri we gotta go!" I immediately snapped back into reality as I climed onto Lapis' back and held onto her as she then took off into the air. It wasn't long till we could see how large scale this invasion was.

All of the enemy troops were evenly yet strategically divided. I assume whoever was leading this operation is a soldier as well which would explain their expertise. However I could see that our troops weren't doing too well against them, however I did see Steven and Jasper down on the ground which was a bit of a shock. I heard a something descending and I looked up to see multiple gem ships staring to descend towards little homeworld.

Lapis looked horrified, I knew this must've been especially hard on her. Lapis stopped moving forward now she just floated lightly flapping her wings as she now stood up in the air saying " Peridot, what do we do? They're everywhere-maybe we should get everyone to retreat. " I couldn't believe what she said, she was the one who during when we were against yellow and blue diamond came back and decided that home was worth fighting for. We can't just give up our home! I responded saying

" Lapis! We can't just retreat, we have to defend our home! We've gone up against worst odds before and we shouldn't stop now. " Lapis looked hesitant to agree but she took a deep breath and nodded. She looked around toward the ground saying " Where do you want me to drop you off? Maybe you should go warn the gems at little-" I interrupted her by pointing towards an area of the beach with the largest concentration of enemy gems.

Lapis looked confused and questioned it saying " What?! Peridot I'm not gonna drop you off in that! You know they'll tear you apart! Unless..... NO we're not letting that happen again!" I quickly responded by it saying " Lapis it'll be alright! If figured out if I send a very specific electrical shock to my gem it'll involuntarily trigger the emotional reactions that cause me to become corrupt. I tested it once or twice when you were asleep and it worked out fine. However if I don't stop when this is all over, get Garnet and the other crystal gems and poof me. Without hesitation, okay?"

Lapis looked almost unwilling to even hear me explain it, Lapis then looked down at the sea of soldiers and realized just how bad the situation was. Lapis slowly looked back to me with a calm expression and said " I trust you, only because I love you. After this we're still gonna speak about the boundaries of what you can do to the coffee maker though. " I chuckled and then nodded as Lapis grabbed me by neck pulled her arm back and threw me towards the beach.

While I was in the air and descending quite rapidly I looked to my wrist and pressed the button on a small device on it, but another happened. I angrily pushed the button a couple more times and smacked it saying " WORK YOU PIECE OF CLODDY MACHINERY THIS IS LITERALLY THE WORST TIME-" before I knew it the electric shock was being administered to my gem and I blacked out.

Lapis POV

I can't believe I really agreed to that, I knew whether I did or didn't Peridot was probably going to do it anyways but I couldn't disagree with the situation at hand. I flew down and landed near Jasper and Steven since it looked like they were worse off than the others. Steven smiled at me and Jasper nodded once as she looked over and saw more boats of gems and said " Hey Lazuli, would you like to stop them or am I gonna be taking swimming lessons today? "

I scoffed back at her and Raised my hands as I made  the tides of water rise and rapidly move sinking the ships, then I made the tides move in a circular motion causing a whirlpool to that trapped all of the gems that were in the boat, once they were all poofed from the extreme force of the water I stopped the motion of the waves and now created a giant water hand that held all of the soldiers gems and brought it over to Steven saying " Big order for a big bubble!" Steven chuckled a bit as he created a large bubble around the whole area of the gems and tapped it sending them away.

Jasper chuckled a bit and then confidently smiled saying " That was one of the best fights I've had in a long time! I just hope you don't try to infect me with your friendship like you do with so many other gems. " I sighed looking toward her and coldly said " I Would not ever try to. " Jasper almost completely ignored what I said as she pointed towards the other area of the beach and said " Woah! Look at the carnage the runt is making!" I hesitantly looked over to see Peridot in her corrupt form holding off hordes of enemy soldiers.

She seemed to be in some control based on the tactics she was using, no ships could get near her without losing control and crashing for some reason. She would probably know, but she was using the iron from stashes she set up on the beach in case of another attack to brutally attack the soldiers. Most of them just poofed but my heart sunk as in the piles of gems some of them were shattered. I looked back at Steven and he looked horrified as well, Jasper walked closer to get a better look as she said " Her kill counts getting up there! 20? No, 25! Good on the runt! Pulling her weight more than that weird Amythest is! "

Steven walked up to Jasper as he shook his head and said " No Jasper that isn't good! Keep your comments to yourself and we don't shatter gems, we can repair the shattered gems but that depends on much essence the diamonds will give us. We have to stop Peridot, the soldiers aren't even fighting her anymore! They're just running away and she's still going after them!" Jasper sighed as she cracked her neck saying " FINALLY I get to have a round with the corrupt runt! "

Steven intervened saying " Jasper, if any one of us try to go against her head on even together we'll be done for. We need a plan. " Jasper then thought for a moment and looked around us, then at the sky and sighed saying " I really hate to say you're right but, you're right. Lazuli, throw me. With your giant water hand throw me as high as you can towards the sky. " I reluctantly nodded and formed a hand from the ocean water and brought it over towards Jasper palm open and she stepped into it, I closed it gripping her a bit tightly as she said

" Lazuli, don't think I won't break out of this hand and shatter you if you're planning just to use this as an excuse just to get back at me!" I chuckled a bit saying " Oh shut up, for the sake of all of us please. " I winded the hand back and spun it around multiple times to build up momentum then threw Jasper into the air. Thanks to her sturdy body she was actually able to take going through these speeds in the air, Peridot didn't notice her as well. Once she started to descend she aimed herself towards Peridot and then started to spin around rapidly, also forming her helmet on her head.

Eventually she hit Peridot dead on the back of her head with her helmet knocking her to the ground. Peridot then destabilized with a large screech and poofed with only her gem resting on the sand as Jasper chuckled as she rubbed her own head. I walked over grabbing Peridot's gem and holding it close to my chest, Jasper walked off saying " I'm gonna take care of those gems that ran away into the forest. " I sighed as I looked down to Peridot's gem and realized what I'd have to tell her about what she did.
