“Are you sure this ash brown hair suits me? Because I think I look hideous.”

Geneva laughed as she stared at her friend.

“It suits you, silly! And you look great even without a perm. I’m sure he will not know you as Shiho anymore.” She stated as she gives her a pair of glasses to complete her new look.

It was ironic. Glasses was part of his disguise. There is that feeling of nostalgia again.

Her lips slowly curved up in a smile as she stared at herself in the mirror. It was like a different person, alright…but she still feels the same.

“I’m sure the whole school will be thrilled with your appearance!”

She snorted in annoyance, as she stared flatly at her. “Don’t remind me.” She answered as she dreaded for what is yet to come.

“I’m so glad you finally accepted the offer, Miss Hailey!” the dean exclaimed as he beamed at her. “And you look great!” he added, much to her annoyance.

“I’ve got some conditions before I’ll sign the paper, Sir.” She responded flatly, but the dean doesn’t seem to mind her flat tone.

“Anything! All for the sake of our university! Say to me any condition you want.”

Shiho smirked. “First, the knowledge cup required every participant to attend to its month-long event. The paper said the contestant can bring someone with them. I want Geneva Sanders to be with me.”

“Okay. Consider it done. I’ll register her right away.”

“Second, I don’t want any of my earlier photographs to circulate in any way in Japan but if it can’t be helped, the one that we’ll be using will be my present appearance. I don’t want anyone to see my old self.”

“Hmmm…can be a little difficult but I can do it.”

“And lastly, I don’t want any other unnecessary meetings or occasion while in Japan. Well be back in New York at exactly one month. NO extensions.” She said with utmost finality that the dean just stared at him.

“Okay?” he answered, rather hesitant because of her seriousness.

“That would be all, sir. Thank you for your time.” She said, not giving the dean the chance to reply as she walks right out the door.
