"From the moment we are born, we begin to die."- Janne Teller

Luca🖤

She was a sight for sore eyes with an untraditionally pretty face and a refreshing complexion. Her small shirt hugged her figure, and her pants did the opposite. The monster boots obviously make her taller. She avoided Luca's eyes, making him drop his gaze.

Dude, stop. Just do the job the wrangler face VP gave you, and stop sizing up a girl you just met. He mentally sighed, disappointed himself.

"Let's go, Bella," Luca stated, quickly walking away.

He didn't hear any talking, so he decided to turn around only to see her running to catch up to him.

"Wait, slow down. Aren't you going to show me around?" she mumbled, catching her breath while the sleep-deprived boy started to laugh.

"No, you have eyes, follow me and figure it out," he dismissed her, making his way to the basement.

"Asshole," she muttered, grabbing his book bag strap to stay close. He surprisingly didn't mind the gesture, nor did he have the energy to pretend he did.

"I know," he chuckled dryly, walking down the stairs.

"All right, this is the uh... science room?" Luca questioned, not even sure where he actually was.

"Um... I think this is a chemistry lab," the girl deadpanned.

"Well, if you know all the rooms, why don't you give yourself a tour?" he raised an eyebrow.

"I don't. It just says that by the room number."

"Great, then you don't need me," he grinned, turning around.

"Can you please just finish the tour? If all the classrooms have labels, it won't take long," she smiled convincingly.

Fucking hell

---

After about 20 minutes, they got through the whole school without Melody getting lost. Luca never went into the rooms and showed her things in detail, but he was sure she could figure it out.

"K, welcome to hell. Goodbye Shortcake," he said, yawning while walking away.

"Wait, um, can you go back to-" she started but stopped as soon as she saw the look on his face. His patience wore thin and he was clearly agitated.

"I- um, never mind, I'll figure it out," she mumbled, walking away. Luca was surprised that she didn't get upset but was even more astonished that he actually felt bad. He walked up to her and took her schedule out of her hands.

This school has a shit ton of classes, probably too many. He thought. I can't blame her for not remembering them all at once.

"Hey, I-" she started before cutting her off.

"Follow me," he started walking towards their class. They had quite a few together, so she'd be ok if she stayed close.

"Um, all right," she murmured, hanging on to his bag strap once again.

They made it to time and went to the back of the class. As soon as he sat down, Luca laid his head on his desk, ready to sleep. Shortly after, whispers about the "new girl" started to fill the air. Luca honestly didn't care; he just wanted the class to go by as fast as possible.

"All right, all right, settle down children. We have a new student today, Ms. Melody. Why don't you come to introduce yourself," our teacher stated.

"I knew it," she groaned, cursing the teacher as he laughed at her childishness.

She kicked his leg under the chair as she got up, letting Luca know she heard his laughter. The class grew silent as they waited for her to get to the front of the course.

"Hi, my name is Melody Davis, I'm 17 years old, and I hope we can all get along," she said, smiling over the class.

"So, does anyone have any questions for Ms. Melody before we start class today"? Ms. Thompson asked

"Oh, I do," Justin cleared his throat, ready to ask a question.

"Did you just sit on a pile of sugar? Because you have a sweet ass-"

"Fuck off," Luca sneered before Justin could finish his 'question.' He quickly put his hands up in a surrendering motion.

"Ok, ok, that's enough. Melody, please take a seat, and everyone, let's get ready for class. Since it's the first day, we only have to look at the syllabus,"

"Dumb fuck," he muttered, placing his head back in his arms.

"You always this hostile?" Luca heard a questioning voice whisper to him from behind. He turned his head around to see Melody facing him.

"Yeah, whatever. I only said something because you didn't," he replied, slightly appalled. She looked surprised, but not as much as he felt. The boy was tempted to push her hair back but decided against it.

"I mean, there's no point in me getting mad. He already said it. You can't control what people do; you can only control your reaction, you know," she shimmied her eyebrows knowingly.

"Weirdo," he whispered to himself, getting comfortable in his seat

"Huh?"

"I said you're corny, Bella," he replied

"If you haven't noticed, my name is Melody. Why do you keep calling me Bella?" She asked confused

"Don't worry about it," he answered, finally falling asleep

A/N Hey, everyone, I'm not even gonna lie; I was so stuck finishing this chapter. Maybe this is why I dropped this story lmao🌚
