HOTEL ROOM IN LA - AFTERNOON
The interviewer Ali sits across from actress Emma Neeson, the two already feeling very comfortable being together as he had interviewed her a couple of times and they had become friends quite quickly. Emma was always excited to hear that Ali was going to interview her as he was very relaxing and never made her feel like she was being poked or prodded for answers. He also was very respectful and never crossed boundaries with his questions. He was one of the good interviewers around.
ALI Emma. You are Ashley Gomez. How in the heck did that happen?
Emma gives a smile, crossing one leg over the other. She pretends to be hard in thought and taps her fingers on her chin.
EMMA If I remember rightly, I think I auditioned for it. But I could be wrong.
ALI (sarcastically) A lot of things happened that day. It doesn't really stick out.
EMMA (sarcastically) Yeah, a lot. It's in the back of my mind.
She lets out a laugh.
EMMA (CONT'D) No, I auditioned and I got the part, is the answer to your question.
ALI Was it a long process?
EMMA Yes. About 5 months give or take. I was flying back and forth from New York to LA for most of that. I was pulled away from Night At The Museum to continue my audition process.
ALI Please tell me you auditioned dressed as a pirate.
EMMA No, I was able to get changed before I went in. I wish I did though, that would have been funny.
ALI It would have been. And what were your emotions when you got that call and they said 'hey, do you mind playing Ashley Gomez for us?' Was it a bigger deal then as it is now? For you personally.
