Bighit took the Kpop world by surprise this morning with the announcement that the Maknae and only girl of the hit group BTS would be going solo.
The statement read "...We are also very excited to announce that Sora of BTS has signed a solo contract. This contract will not prohibit or harm Sora's activities in the group but will simply allow her to promote as a solo artist. Sora is very excited about the news and her members have offered her their full support as we hope you will too..."
The contract lasts seven years and states that while Sora will be an active solo artist she will still be fully apart of BTS. Army's have taken to Twitter to show their support and excitement over the new contract and have trended #SoraSolo at number 5 worldwide.
Sora having a separate contract regarding her solo career means she will get to promote on music shows as well as release physical copies of her albums.
There is no news of when Sora's debut will happen but we are all waiting anxiously for the teaser.
