Tremors seeped into her spine as the doorbell rang. The anticipation was no longer something she felt, she knew who was at the door, and she dreaded it.

"Should I answer it?" Colton posed like a soccer mom as he spoke in a whisper-like voice as to not spook alina.

Her arms entangled with his in response to his question. The once fiery eyes were now filled with despair, and it wasn't a good look. "Okay... Dan should come down any minute to answer it. I promise you are okay."

He stroked her hair.

It was such a cliché, but it was something that felt calming. To have someone who you trust caress your hair with delicacy as if you were made of glass or porcelain was soothing—relaxing. The wall she had built around herself slowly lowered the defenses, and the trembling began to die down. Colton was no stranger to the heightened reactions, however, he couldn't help but feel as if something was incredibly wrong with this person standing opposite of the door. He didn't like it.

The doorbell rang again; the tune seemed longer and lighter of a melody. Alina sighed and gathered her conscious before approaching the door with a rather fake smile on her face, twisting the door knob and automatically unlocking the door. She was fully aware what would be in front of her. It was a comprehensive type of thing. The question is more of what will she do if he runs his mouth rather than eek ~! What will she do~!

It's simple.

She will embrace him.

"Alina~? Oh my..! You're even prettier." His eyes felt like scanners.

And then he looked to his right and was not shy to show disgust at the sight of Colton. It was riveting. "How repulsive."
