I hear my back pop when I hit the ground. Opening my eyes slowly, I see the skeleton of a burned house around me. "What..." I whisper. I stand, feeling some familiarity towards the building but having no idea why. The smell of burning bodies is almost suffocating, if not for a single different smell lingering close by.

Blood.

I let instincts guide me as I head towards a hole in the floor. Nervously, I lean my head over the edge of the broken wood and down into the hole. There's a body - a broken, burned body. However, what is odd about it, is that its not an old burn smell. It's new.

Suddenly, the body in the hole looks up at me. It opens its mouth and shouts, "Lilliana!"

For once, I do not bolt out of bed. I wake up confused and alone. Where is Isaac? "Pack business, probably," I say to myself as I stand up. Spring break - we get a few days off from school for whatever reason. I groan, feeling the affects of the full moon already. I could snap at any moment from anger and confusion.

A knock sounds from downstairs. Groaning, I go to grab a shawl and realize that I did not change after last night. So I head downstairs and check the peep hole. "Oh my..." I mutter before opening my door. Chris Argent stands there. "Should I feel the need to warn you about the barrier spell surrounding my house that will not let anything hurt me?" I ask in a lethargic tone.

"No, but duly noted," Chris replies. He takes a deep breath. Irritated, he says, "I need your help." If I would have been holding something right now, I would have dropped it. "Derek bit my wife the other night."

"And you need my help how?" I question. If I was more on my game, I would have just shut my door in his face. However, the full moon is coming and it is hard enough for me to fight through it without getting angry. Also, he's my friend's father.

He takes a breath in as if to settle himself again. "I need your blood." I raise my eyebrow. He explains, "I read up about your father and what his blood can do for others. It says in his book it can heal lycanthropy bites. I need some for my wife before the moon hits its peak tonight."

The explanation is a lot more shocking than I anticipated. I feel really bad that I have to say, "It's doesn't work like that, Chris."

"In every book I have read, it says the blood of the Original Hybrid can heal all wounds, even ones caused by werewolves."

"Yes because a werewolf bite to a vampire is lethal and has no cure!" I shout. Desperate is written all over his face. "Look, Chris," I say as I step out onto my deck, "I wish I could help you. If I knew it would work, I would give it to you. Honestly, even though you have it out for Scott and the rest of werewolf kind which makes up most of your daughter's friend group, I know you just want what's best for her. But I cannot risk her dying and turning into a mindless hybrid or vampire. I honestly wish I could help you."

When I turn to head back inside, Chris exclaims, "She's gonna need you - after tonight." I stare at him, knowing exactly what he means between the lines.

"Then keep her away from Gerard," I instruct. "I know grief can be turned into vengeance as simple as..." I snap my fingers. I think it over for a moment, speed back inside, grab one of the burner's from my box. "Here," I say putting it into his hand. "One number on it - only call if it's an emergency. And if it isn't, just know I can smell bullshit from miles away." I smile a hopeful and assuring smile before walking back inside.

Almost as soon as I close the door, my phones starts going off. "What, Stiles? I am not in the mood right now?" I say groaning.

"Well hello to you too. I am just gonna assume that's the full moon talking," Stiles replies. "Just some questions about the case. We have a lead and we need to ask a few questions."
