Head to Head

Kayano's POV:

I was getting tired of waiting for Nagisa to get me a spoon. The pudding was taunting me- waiting to be eaten. I took Nagisa's spoon and started to eat some. I then decided to go check on him.

He definitely shouldn't be taking that long. . .

I got up and walked up to the bluenette who was standing next to a tall boy with red hair.  I saw Nagisa's face was red as he stared down at his feet.

"Here she comes," I heard the red-haired boy say. I just ignored him, but somehow he seemed familiar.

"Nagisa?" I whispered in his ear. "Are you okay?"

He turned his head to look at me. I then realized his forehead was touching mine. I blushed, but Nagisa seemed completely comfortable.

Wow, his skin is soft. Almost like a girl's.

I couldn't help but giggle at the thought. Where we were seemed to melt away. All that mattered to me was that I was near Nagisa.

He seemed to cheer up a bit, and he looked directly into my eyes. I did the same. His eyes were the most captivating shade of blue. They just made you want to look at him more. . .

"I'm better now that you're here, Kayano," Nagisa whispered back. I couldn't help but blush. He was so sweet.

"Now now, lovebirds, you have been standing with your heads pressed against each other for a least 4 minutes. I'm sure you didn't even realize I took a picture of it. Good thing I kept in contact with Ritsu. She'll be able to send this to all of our old classmates!" I grabbed Nagisa's hand so we could get up at the same time. I hid my sadness as I pulled my head away from Nagisa's.

Suddenly, I knew where I had seen the red-haired boy before.

"Come on Karma, delete that!" I said, embarrassed.

"At least somebody recognizes me!" Karma started.

"And, sorry to disappoint Kayano, but I already had Ritsu send everybody the picture. Even if I deleted the one I have now, it wouldn't make much difference." Karma concluded.

I knew Karma didn't care, even though I'm sure he would say otherwise.

I glanced at Nagisa, who was blushing and didn't seem to be paying attention to what was going on at all.

"Fine, whatever!" I said. Then I lowered my voice. "Just. . . send it to me then, okay?" I asked Karma. He gave a devious smile.

"Sure. Anything for my best friend's girlfriend."

I had no time to argue with him, Nagisa seemed dazed, and I was worried it was going to rain soon. I didn't want to get caught in a downpour, so I looked at Nagisa and asked, "Nagisa, could you walk me home?"

Nagisa looked at me as if he had just awoken from a dream- confused and tired- but he just blinked a few times and seemed to adjust to my question.

"Of course, Kayano! But, I could drive you if you want."

I blushed through a smile and completely forgot about Karma.

"I would love that."
