(April 26, 2020) A poem for our dear frontliners!

They say efforts are never really seen,
Unless the times of danger's keen
These people had always been
Protecting us through thick and thin

Remember when we said
Doctors do not care if you're dead
They care about fame instead
But how can they never get afraid
Of what's even coming up ahead
When the world is hanging on a thread?

Remember when we fight
The police with all our might
We always say it's our right
Blaming the rules that are so tight
But sometimes it's not alright
To break the rules and be impolite

Remember when we argued
With the staff, we were so rude
The supermarket was so big and full,
Providing everything, including our food
But still, to these workers we continued
To give such unfavorable attitude

Remember when we protest
Everytime the bank is so compressed
And we always seem to detest
Long hours before being processed
So many people have their requests
Why don't we just wait to be the teller's guest?

Remember all the things we did,
We were so much acting like a kid
And now, we are so full of shame,
That those we so much used to call lame
Are the ones protecting us,
Fighting for us and thus

A million thanks will never be enough
To replace all the sleepless nights
So many people choose to fight,
To the outside world, is a battle so tough
We are very much lucky
To have these people as our ally

Because of this pandemic,
The people were in state of panic,
But our heroes appeared abruptly
Relieving us from agony
We now realized these people's worth,
We truly have heroes on Earth!

They say efforts are never really seen,
Unless the times of danger's keen
But now we have our heroes on a team,
And we hope they would also stay safe therein
