Monique's POV
When I felt myself going back into consciousness, I heard the sounds of chains hitting against each other. I wasted no time and immediately opened my eyes. It was dark and I can feel the dirty water of the place on my feet. I found myself inside the same hell I was before.
The dungeon.
I looked to my left and my eyes widened to see Haechan's wrists chained to the wall. So was mine, but he looked much more vulnerable than I was. "Haechan, Haechan." I called him and tried to go towards him, but the chains were binding me.
He blinked his eyes repeatedly and opened them. He looked around and then he noticed me. "Monique!" He exclaimed. He tried to move to my direction but again, we're both chained. His eyes started to glint with tears and I grew worried.
"Are you okay?" He asked. I gave him a smile to reassure him that I'm not hurt. "Yes, I'm fine. How about you?" He nodded. "I am okay," He glanced at our surroundings again before returning his gaze to me. "Is this the dungeon?" He asked.
I gave him a nod. We looked to the farther left and can vaguely make out the silhouette of Elyas. "Boy! You okay?" Haechan asked. Elyas looked so scared and his whimpers made him sound so helpless. Without knowing, I was starting to cry.
"I.. I am so sorry for dragging you two into this mess. If I just haven't left this castle, then you wouldn't be here." Haechan shook his hands, ringing the chains on his wrists. "Monique, don't say that," I wiped the tears in my eyes so I could see his face better.
"If you didn't come into my life, I would have been as ruined as you could be in here. You are the most beautiful thing that happened to me and I can't imagine living another day without you. Don't ever think bad about escaping in here because that is the reason why you found yourself."
There he goes again with his speech. I can never argue with him that would last more than two minutes. "Fine, but we need to get out of here." We then heard a laugh. I scowled when I heard that same disgusting snicker. "You.."
"Princess.." His face showed in the dim light from the torch on the wall between Haechan and I. "We meet again." He said. He wasn't holding his whip but instead that impudent annoying grin on his lips.
"It is not nice to see you." Lucas chuckled. "Woah, slow down, princess. I won't hurt you. Oh, look! You got a friend. How surprising." He said. I looked at Haechan and he was giving Lucas deathly glares, the same one that he gave me when he first met me.
"What is your name?" Haechan clicked his tongue, chuckling sarcastically. "And why would I tell you?" Lucas was going to hit him but collected himself. "You bastard. Be lucky the King and Queen won't let me hurt any of you.. for now,"
He sighed and folded his arms. "Anyway, I'm here to deliver news. Each of you has one wish but you shouldn't wish to set yourself free, like, I wish to set myself free—no. Anything and the King and Queen shall grant it. Let us start with you, lover boy." He peered at Haechan.
"Set Elyas free." He simply said. Lucas raised a brow. "What? All I see is you, princess and this dog. Are you Elyas? Because that cannot be arra—"
"Set my dog free!" Haechan shouted. Elyas whimpered in the corner, worried about his owner. "It's okay, boy. I will stay with your mama." Even though we were in a tight situation, the nickname made me smile.
Lucas' smirk became wider. "Well then." He lifted up the ring of keys and unlocked the chains that was holding Elyas. With a whine, Elyas ran his fur over Haechan and I's hands before running out of the dungeon.
"I'll stay with you." Haechan said directly to me. "No," I immediately replied then looked at Lucas. "Set him free." The boy beside me gave me a look while Lucas was unlocking the chains on his wrists. "Monique, I can't leave you here."
