Priscah's POV
I was dumbfounded. I take in my surroundings for the first time. I was on a deserted highway.
I couldn't believe they had just left. I look behind me and found my bag lying close to me. I scramble over and pick it up. I could barely stand, talk less of walking.
I'm quickly alerted when I see headlights approaching. A car stops just in front of me. A man dressed in business suit, steps out and gives me a hand. I'm shaking violently by now.
He doesn't ask any questions thankfully, even though he sees the state I'm in.
"Do you need a ride anywhere?" He ask. When I don't reply, he patiently squats down to my level. "I'm heading to the city." I could drop you off anywhere along the way, probably a hospital. You look like you could use one.
I shake my head in the affirmative. He helps me up into the car. "Are you okay?" He asks. "Do I look okay to you?" I snapped weakly.
"Hey, just a concerned passerby" he says, throwing his hands up. "I'm sorry," I replied. I feel the tears begin to pour.
He parks the car and just sits there in silence while the tears poured.
After a while, I look up and caught him staring at me. He quickly averts his eye when he sees that I caught him. "Let's go," I say.
I reach out for my bag and check for my phone. It was dead. Pam must be so worried right now.
I hope she was safe. I wondered if the police were looking for me. I didn't even know how long I was gone.
I broke out of my reverie to find my helper driving into a gas station.
"What would you like? You must be hungry." He asked. "I'm fine, I have no appetite," I answer.
"You can call me Lucas, or just Luke. I would be right back."
Moments later, he returned with some water, chips and chocolate bars.
We continue our journey back to the city. I'm surprised he doesn't insist on taking me to the hospital considering the physical state I am in right now.
I quickly steal a glance at him. He appears to be deep in thought. I sigh and take a sip of the now cold coffee he got me a while back.
Few moments later, I slip into oblivion.

Lucas' (Luke) POV
I stare at her sleeping form. I fee something stir in me. She didn't deserve any of this. And all this because of that bastard, Alessandro's weird obsession with her.
We had confirmed that she had nothing to do with him, but this was an opportunity my superiors where not ready to let slip by.
A means to an end, they had called it. "If you are so worried about her, then why don't we make it your official duty to watch over her?" They had said. And so that was how I was assigned to her.
I was part of the special police, as they fondly called it, that was set up with the soul aim of bringing down the mafia/cartel. I myself a Marine turned SEAL, was assigned down here. The team consisted of Marines, the military,FBI, prosecutors, and so on.
The plan was to grab her and find out her relationship with Alessandro that would make him be careless how he was. We had been on his case for years without any breakthrough.
Then she appeared out of nowhere. The guys were supposed to bring her in last night, but she somehow managed to escape.
Then Ricardo's people had grabbed her. My mind flashes back to last night. I had argued helplessly for us to rescue her. But my superiors didn't see the need to compromise the mission for her.
We also thought she had a connection to Alessandro, so they didn't really care for her. After all she was a dangerous Mobster's woman and she knew the dangers involved.
The footage from last night proved us wrong though, especially when she had thought it was Alessandro that nabbed her. Meaning she had no connection with him or willingly.
Now my superiors had seen an opportunity they where bit willing to pass by.
She stored awake as I drove into the base of our operation.
