The pair was sitting at a library table, papers and textbooks scattered around. Calypso's lunch bag had been discarded on the ground next to her seat and Leo simply just hadn't brought one. Their spare period had 10 minutes left, and Leo was struggling to explain the social studies homework to his girlfriend. Leo was trying to tutor her, but social really wasn't his strong point and his own grades were suffering from his lack of effort. Leo was helping Calypso catch up to modern time, the reason for why the titaness was in high school, but he wasn't looking after his own grades. Science and math were the core subjects he was strong in, but he still wouldn't study for exams or polish up projects until he was sure Calypso would get a good mark. The couple had only been at Millennium High School for a little over a month, but some of Leo's teachers were already harping on him to bring up his grades from an average of 62%.

There was one kid in their grade, grade 10, who wanted to tutor everyone. Leo's teachers bugged him to let the kid, Jack Adams, tutor Calypso so that Leo could focus on his own grades. Jack had never actually asked if they wanted him to take over tutoring Calypso, but the couple was considering asking him themselves. Jack was well known for having top marks in all of his subjects. He often bragged to other kids about his 90's and 95's, but he was nice enough for the general population to not hate him. As soon as the gods had revealed themselves, Jack had buried himself in books and notes on the pantheon and emerged a week later with his endless supply of knowledge for anyone who asked anything. Calypso thanked the Fates that he wasn't claiming to be a demigod himself, stories from nearly every other camper made her despise the idea. Adams was smart enough to realise that looking like both of his present parents dismissed such theories. Jack was a nerd, there was no doubt about it, and he knew what everyone was struggling in. There was no way around it.

While Leo was stuttering over Robespierre and the Jacobin Club, Jack was glancing at them over the top of his computer. One of his little birdies, a girl in Calypso and Leo's homeroom, had just slipped him a piece of paper with their averages written on it. Calypso was seriously lacking in history, math, and chemistry. Leo was lacking in history and language arts. Jack had often overheard them having very gossipy and fluent conversations in multiple other languages, so that wasn't a problem. He had told the girl to figure out their cores, that was all that was necessary.

Jack walked casually over to the couple and leaned on the table. "I couldn't help but notice that you were struggling a bit with..." he paused, skimming over Calypso's notes. " Robespierre. Would you like some help? I do have a bit of experience in that arena."

Calypso looked confused. Why would Jack have experience in this person? Leo glanced at her to see if she was willing to accept Jack's offer to help them. She nodded, that was something Calypso understood. Leo smiled gratefully at Jack, "If you could help, it would be great. We're both kinda falling behind in some areas. Callie here is struggling and I'm just being downright neglectful. I'm not even trying with those bad boys!"

Jack frowned, he hated it when people didn't care about their grades. "Hmph. Should we get started on history?" They delved into it. By the time the little bit of their spare had finished it, Jack had speed-written a page of notes for them about Robespierre while simultaneously talking about it at a slower, more comprehensible pace.

A few days later, Calypso and Jack were at it again. Leo had taken the opportunity to complete an extra credit project once he knew that someone was helping Calypso. Throughout the period, Jack's face would twitch or pinch, conveying emotions from frustration to exasperation to annoyance. The titaness' foot was tapping as she stared at her textbook. Jack was clenching his hands and glaring at the girl he was tutoring.

"For God's sake! It's just geometry! It's not that hard! Why can't you just get the slope and equation already? Why is it taking you so long to translate it?" Jack exploded. His hand slapped the table next to Calypso's textbook startling her out of concentration. Calypso jumped in her seat and bit back a cry of surprise. She was trying really hard to picture it in her head, but it just wasn't in her abilities. Calypso could imagine and picture lots of things, (how else would she have planned out all of the developments to her island?) but math was not one of them. The numbers on the pages were blurring and mixing, and her mind was all jumbled.

Calypso breathed loudly, trying to calm her racing heart while Jack angrily pointed out lines in the textbook with harsh finger jerks. She tuned him out, trying to figure out where she messed up.

After a few moments of thoughts, she spoke up. "Jack, I do not understand this geometry. What I also do not understand is why you reacted like that. Did you want to tutor me or not? Clearly you knew I was struggling and that Leo was as well, so why did you think you would become the star and glide through this. You coming to help was not going to immediately put a halt to our struggles, so why did you think it would! You are smart, not a son of Athena!" Calypso punctuated the last few words by standing up from her seat and taking on a regal stance in front of the boy.

It was clear, even to Jack, that a child of Athena is essentially a genius. He knew that. Adams was still taken back by Calypso suddenly standing up for herself and asserting herself as the person who was in the right. She knew she had already won when she said that and watched as his face morph into a flash of defeat, before returning to fury.

"Don't you dare talk to me as if I am a stupid being. It is not my fault I am behind. You have no right to talk down to me in such a way. It is disgusting, Jack Adams. Some students do not excel quite as you do, and you must realise that! If this is how you tutor someone, I suggest you reevaluate your life. Now, I am going to go and be productive and get some actual help with this. Good day." Calypso grabbed her stuff in a calm manner and stalked out of the room, head held high like the titaness she is.

Calypso walked through the school halls with an attitude and aura that made everyone immediately move out of the way upon looking at her as they trickled into the halls. She quickly got to her locker and stashed away her belongings. Leo found her while she was locking her locker again with her lunch bag in hand.

He was slightly surprised by her take-no-bullshit attitude, but took it in stride. "So, sunshine, how'd tutoring go?"

"Jack Adams has proved himself petty and a horrible tutor." She replied. Calypso delved into the events of that day's tutoring. It wasn't long before Leo had also adopted the same attitude and had a war-path of his own.

"I'm gonna teach him a lesson." He declared, spinning on his heel to track down Jack.

Calypso stopped him with a hand on his shoulder. "What are you going to do to him?"

"Either punch him or give him a talking to. I'll decide when I see him." He set off again, long paces with his scrawny legs carrying him down the corridor.

"Leo, there's no need. I've already dealt with him."

Leo nodded once, returning to his girlfriend's side. His face regained its usual mischievous smile and his eyes took on their 'too much caffeine, let's go nuts' glint, and he bounded down the hallway, pulling Calypso after him. "Ok, maybe I can prank him a little. But for now, sunshine, 'tis lunchtime! Let's eat. You want some of Chef Leo's tacos?"

Thank you so much to the people who recently put in oc's in my AN at the beginning and to @Igwatermelon for requesting this! I am so sorry this took forever, but I hope you like it now that it's done.
