Chapter 18

I bursted into Cole's cell.....he was sitting with his back resting on the wall..I didn't say anything to him

"Ik he will never allow me to meet her" he said after few seconds...
"What's your address" I said folding my hands
"What?" He looked up
"What's your address....ill go and check on her.....if u r comfortable with tha- "
"YES...yes ofcourse" he said standing up instantly....his face brightened...I felt so bad for him...he can't even see his mother

"U don't have any idea how much this means to me Emily" he whispered getting closer...he held my hand gently...hearing my name from his mouth gave me chills....idk why but it was so sexy..

"So...the address" I asked trying not feel so much...it scares me...all the feelings I get with him...
"Yeah...yeah right umm maple street 2344"
He said while still holding my hand...he didn't even realise it...his hands were warm and I didn't want to let go

"Uh...im going" I said hoping he'll notice
"Okay" he said looking straight into my eyes making me more nervous... a little smile displaying on his mesmerizing face
"Okay" I said in a low voice...he was still holding my hand...I was blushing so hard...how adorable he looked at that time
"My hand Cole.." I said again looking at our hands...he looked down and when the realisation hit him he released my hand...taking few steps back

"Im sorry" he whispered
"Its okay" I giggled and walked out of the door

I kept repeating the address so that I don't forget it while driving....I arrived in 15 mins approx...I opened the door of my car...I had to search the house because every house looked same...

" found it" I jumped a little...I walked towards it and hesitantly knocked on the door.....
The door opened revealing an old woman with blonde hair in a bun..
"Hi" I smiled
"Hello...Do I know u" she said with the sweetest smile
"No...I am Emily...Cole's doctor...and I came to check on u on behalf of Cole" I said awkwardly "Cole's mother right?" I questioned

"Yeah yeah..c'mon in" she said and gave me a confused look...she must know that Prisons don't usually appoint doctors...
I walked into their house....it was well maintained and very clean...

"Come sit down" she gestured me to sit on the dining table in their kitchen
"U live here alone..." I asked
"Yess honey"
She was very nice...
"Uh....Ik it will sound weird but umm...The police is not letting him meet anyone...becuz" I stopped not knowing what to say to her...her face frowned
"Ik honey....ik" she said disappointed
"Im sorry" I said holding her hand
"He misses u....very much" I told her
"He send me to check on u..." I said quietly...honestly this is so weird but I feel sad for both of them I hope I could make them meet each other

"I miss him too honey...tell him" she said smiling but tears filling her eyes..
"I hope I could bring him here...im really sorry"
"Uk...Ray is not a bad guy...he did it for us...he don't deserve to be there" she sobbed
"Ray?" I asked
"Cole...his nickname is Ray." She smiled
"Oh"

Ofcourse she would say things in his favour...she's his mom...
"Yeah..he told me that....why he did what he did" I replied
"Im sorry for ur daughter" I said....she's crying for her son and im reminding her of her daughter wow...I was hoping she would tell me something about him...but she kept quiet..probably thinking about her daughter too..

"Where r u guys from" I asked hesitantly..
"We r from here only...Cole grew up here...he suffered the most...he was a little boy..he isn't like that uk" she looked up to face me "he tries to be hard and unapproachable...that's just how his father made him" she signed
"He has a loving heart he would do anything for family" she stated

I kept quiet and smiled...his image holding my hand rewinding in my head

I viewed at the time and it was 4 pm...
"I think I should go now its getting late"
"Oh dear I haven't even made tea for u" she said giving a sunshiny smile
"Don't worry about it" I said....she came in to give me a hug...she reminded me of mum so much....
I hugged her back softly...

"It was really nice of u to visit me here honey...thanku so much" she exclaimed
"Oh its fine" I replied
"Come back again okay...i like to have company"
"Okay i will" I smiled and got up from the chair...as I was about to step out she held my hand..
"Tell Cole I love him and I believe in him" she whispered...I stopped and looked at her

"Believe in what" I asked...though I suddenly realised it was inappropriate to ask but before I could apologise..she replied
"He didn't do those horrible things he is charged with...he killed people to protect us but he never liked it....it is not a crime to protect oneself and family" she replied proudly
"Okay...ill tell him" I held her hand
"see u again Ms. Reynolds" I said and turned around not wanting to say anything else...

What on earth...Im so perplexed right now
Something inside tells me that Cole is not lying

I drived to Bethlehem hoping dad wouldn't question what i was doing here...
I sneakily got in and straight to Cole's cell..
"Hey" I said but didn't turn the lights on
I didn't want anyone to see us
"Hi...was she there" he asked..I sat next to him
"Yes" I smiled
"Is she okay...what did she say" he inquired
"She is fine...she said she loves u very much and she believes in u..she misses u" I said after a pause...he gave the same expression as his mom did When I told her he loves her...he smiled and tears filled his eyes...they almost looked same with their green eyes

He immediately started wiping his tears..
I put my hand on his shoulder..
"Cole..its okay to cry" I told him
He didn't say anything..."thanku so much for visiting her Emily" he said carefully
I smiled in response

"If anything happens to her....and I don't even get to meet her...ill never forgive myself" he said and hid his face with his hand and I knew he was broken it made me so weak to see him like that....I tried comforting him...i feel so bad i wish I could take him there...

"I wish I could take u there" i told him
"U can't" he whispered still not looking at me
"Wait a second" an idea popped in my head
"I can't take u there...but I can bring her here right" I said smirking
He looked up at me trying to understand what I meant...
"Yes!" I said excitedly and left without saying anything to him
