Chapter 26

We were done ordering..
Griffin ordered pasta snd I ordered large fries....we weren't really hungry...
He broke the silence first

"So umm tell me something about yourself" he asked putting his elbow on the table
"Im Emily Rodalph" I chuckled "and im a Resident at KK international hospital"
"Wow that's awesome" he smiled
He is really cute tbh...i don't regret coming here....but I can't be in a relationship with anyone...not right now

"What about u"  I asked
"I am businessman" he stated proudly
"That's awesome" I commented
"Yeah" ......"so how does Kelly know u" I asked being curious...becuz if she had put me up on a dating app I'll kill her

"Oh she and I met at a coffee shop....im friend of Kaleb" he said simply....Kaleb was Kelly's ex
"Oh..." I paused

"Its weird ik...but we became close friends so we were comfortable" he said and looked up behind me
"Excuse me?" He asked furrowing his eyebrows
"What?" I said
I turned around to look who he was talking to....

My breath was caught in my throat when I saw him

"C-Cole?" I stood up
His glassy eyes stared down at me...I stood up slowly....he took my hand gently and kissed it

"Hi" he whispered
I was so shocked...I kept looking at him with my mouth forming O shape...
"What r u-" I asked furrowing my eyebrows

He is unrecognisable....I noticed his white shirt with two buttons undone and black pants...he looks so dashing

"Excuse me do u know him" Griffin interrupted pointing at Cole
"Yes" Cole said in a rough voice
"I...Im...I will be back Griffin" I said as I grabbed Cole's hand and pulled him outside the restaurant...i didn't know what else to do but if anyone saw us we'd be in great trouble

"What the hell" I yelled as we got out
He quickly hugged me...the place was so silent that I was able to hear his fast heartbeat...I signed

his intoxicating smell brought back all the memories of Bethlehem...I had thousands of questions to ask him but I decided to embrace this moment instead

I dugged my head deeper into his neck as he tightened his grip on my lower back....my hand was on his chest and the bruises hurted but I didn't care....
"I missed u so godamn much" he whispered into my ear

He quickly pulled away from the hug as if he remembered something...
I looked at him perplexed...
" r u okay" he asked cupping my face and checking my face neck and all the visible parts of my body

"Im okay" I said looking at him not getting enough of his beautiful features
"How r u Cole" my voice broke
He made eye contact
"Im good now that I've met u" he giggled....wow he....he laughed....that was rare

"Where were u" I asked remembering all the stuff again
"Why did u run away"...my hands cupped his face without even realising....god I missed him so much

"I was-" he stopped as sirens started ringing
"Shit" he gritted looking down
"R u still running away" I asked him dumbly but my question made his eyes soften...almost as if he's hurt

"Im sorry...im so so sorry" he quickly started searching his pocket and pulled out an emerald necklace...
"Ik I've done terrible things to u...and im sorry...I really am...there is a party tomorrow...I can't tell u anything right now the....the police r here" he stopped and turned back

"Ur dad will ask u to come there...u will have to come becuz...." he turned back again  "your dad will tell u everything...if- if u wanna talk to me then wear this necklace..." he handed me the necklace....his eyes brimmed with tears

"What is happening" I questioned again looking at the police car approaching from a distance
"I will tell u everything I promise....but I won't force u to come....ik it is alot to ask but please trust me i would never hurt u just wear this to the party as a yes if u wanna see my face...I will explain everything to u I have to go now Emily im so sorry" he held my face again

Tears rolled down his eyes....it was just like a flashback of the day when he ran away from Bethlehem..
I was looking at him and then the sirens light flashed on his face they were getting closer...everything was in slow motion....I felt dizzy

"Ill meet u there" he said and kissed my hand again...a black car approached
he jogged towards it and got in quickly...the car started and the driver drove so fast...it felt like they flew away...

I stood there not knowing what to do...it felt like a dream
The cops got out of their cars

I quickly opened the restaurant door and got in...
I can't let the officer see me...they will recognise me ,I walked to where Griffin was sitting and sat down

He looked up from his phone
"What happened" he asked seeing the horrid look on my face
"What....uh- nothing" I wiped my face
"Who was he" he questioned
The police opened the door and started searching...
They saw me shit shit shit

I held my head in hands...I slowly turned to take a peek at them...
They stood there looking around the restaurant

after few seconds they walked out...
"Thank god" I signed
"Can u atleast tell me what happened" Griffin said putting his hand on mine

"Im sorry Griffin I gotta go" I said and got up
"Ill drop u" he got up with me
"No no....ill call Kelly" I said
"It was really nice meeting u" I started walking away
