As Mia was prepping herself for her and Hugh's night out, I looked at her in awe. I may not be the biggest fan of adoration, infatuation, lust, or love, but seeing it on my sister has its own satisfying remarks.

"What should I wear?" Mia asks me, "This one?" She sticks out a lavender gingham dress with puffy sleeves, "Or this one?" She asks again, showing a white dress with a right leg slit and puffy sleeves."

It was an easy choice, "The white one for sure." I spoke.

Mia nodded and placed the lavender piece of clothing back in her closet.

"Shall I wait for you or shall I not?" I asked her as she slipped on the dress.

Mia thought for a second, "I don't really know." She breathes, "Maybe I'll just update you on how it goes."

I laugh, "Yes, I'll wait for your night's anecdote."

Passing a few minutes or so, the door bell rang and immediately, we knew that Hugh was ready to pick Mia up.

Instantly I consulted Mia, "Should I let him in?" I ask.

"Yeah, please." Mia replies as she does final touches on her look, "Thanks, sis."

I smiled and proceeded to open the door for Hugh and to my widest surprise,

"Good evening, Ms. Bennett."

"Darcy." I said in a shock, "What ever are you doing here?" I ask him, "And where is Hugh?"

"Such a surprise I can tell." He chuckles, "Hugh is just making his way over here."

"And your presence here is of what particular reason?" I crossed my arms and raised a brow.

"To take you out."

My eyes widened, unsure if what I heard was correct.

"Excuse you?" I said, taken aback. "I don't recall participating in such frivolousness, Darcy."

He laughs, his smile becoming visible to my clear eyesight again. Suddenly, without a doubt, my heart leaped. Why must it be, his smile is so infectious? One must find it ridiculously hard to not be infected. Or is it just me?

"It's Hugh asking for a favor, not me." Darcy clarifies.

"Oh," I say, "What must be the reason for this?"

He shrugs, "He's just nervous for his date with Mia and wanted us to tag along."

I scoffed, "Oh, come on. Such childish acts like this must not be tolerated!" I laugh, "Why did you tolerate it, Darcy?" I keenly looked at him.

"But before that, please do come in." I said, realizing it has been particularly rude of me to not offer after standing here, practically interrogating him.

"I thought the day would never come." He sarcastically remarks, causing me to roll my eyes.

Darcy takes a seat on one of our couch and clasps his hands together, "To answer your question, I was just being a supportive friend to my cousin."

"I don't know. I don't want Mia to feel like I'm going behind her back."

Darcy nods at this, "I understand, but they really won't notice we're there anyways."

Curiosity hit me, "What? How come?" I ask with stitched brows.

"We'll be in a different and distant table from them." He explains, but still, I couldn't manage to wrap my head around this peculiar idea.

"Then how will we help minimize the awkwardness between the two of them?" I ask.

Darcy laughs, "You are one curious cat." He shakes his head and I immediately felt a hot blood rush in my bare cheeks.
