Turns out Thomas turned Zach a couple years back, but you hasn't heard thomas' side of things yet.

Zach and Avani and Me looked at Thomas. However Zach gave more of a death glare and Kio came over and sat with us as Jackson's body is in the corner of the room.
L:Is he dead?
K:No princess it takes a lot more than that to kill a vampire.
T:ANYWAYS, back to me.
We all rolled our eyes and thomas began speaking.
He told us how when he was a lot younger and also more stupid, he would go around turning innocent humans. Zach being one of those humans. Thomas has apologised to zach and they have became vicil. but kio was having none of it.
K: YOU BASTARD!
T:I- it's not my fault-
Z:kio. pipe down it's fine.
K:He fucki-
I grabbed kios arm and dragged him out of the room.
