There were two things I dreaded most.

The first was being torn away from my woman for too long.

In the early mornings, when we would part ways, for the time being, I found myself becoming steadily more miserable as the distance between us seemed to grow with each leg lock shoulder pop. I once wondered if she felt the same as I did, but it soon became clear to me that her passion was no match for my obsessive and needy tendencies.

I'm in love, okay? If not her, then who else?

The second was my alarm clock.

It has had it out for me since I bought the damned thing. Every morning, just as I would allow myself to breathe a little deeper and scoot a little closer, it would wail for my attention, dragging me out of my precious slumber just to throw me out to the lions for nine hours out of the day. I would often chide myself for being upset, as that was what alarm clocks were supposed to do, but I could never quite shake the bitterness in my soul as I trudged down the hall and into the washroom.

Down the stairs, in my car, and to the studio. Off to brighten my day with tons of new faces, new dancing patterns, and emotional habits. I loved every moment of it, truly. But deep down, I knew that I wished to spend my hours entangled in her in every way humanly and inhumanely possible. Chest to chest, lips to lips, toe to toe.

So in all my deceit, I managed to free myself most mornings without expressing my apprehension.  I would smile for hours upon hours, grinning and giggling my way through the day with the promise to return.

However, there were some mornings where I couldn't be quiet enough, gentle, nor steady enough to pass without delay.

This was one of those mornings.

Gracious fingers curl around my wrist just before I can place both my feet on the ground, causing me to jump slightly. Caught off-guard by the sudden warmth, I looked over my shoulder to find her with her face smothered by the pillows, the fluffiness of her hair sticking up in every direction.

She's adorable like this.

She lifts her head and turns her neck to look toward my direction, rewarding me with her sweetest simper.

"Good morning, my love," I greeted, squeezing her hand gently.

She softly greets me and props herself up on one arm, pushing the blankets off her body. I failed to keep my eyes from roaming, noticing that she made no moves to redress herself from the waist down.

"Leaving already?" She asks, something playful in her tone as she awaits my reply.

"I was going to leave early so I could get back home sooner."
