Zoey POV
We are at the beach, walking on the soft sand feeling the cool breeze on my slightly exposed body, this should feel right, shouldn't it? Considering the fact that I work like 16hours everyday, this should be like a vacation, especially when Nathan, my best friend is here.
But something isn't right.
Levi
I have been really nervous considering our last encounter, now that I think about it, I feel like I over reacted by not answering his calls or messages, it still doesn't hinge the fact that he lied to me
'he didn't lie to you actually' my subconscious reminds me
He didn't say anything about it, duhhh, he knew how I felt about these cocky rich people
'But Nathan is rich'
damn you subconscious, I'm still pissed and Nathan is different
"You ok?" Nathan asked
"You have asked this question over and over again -" I faked a smile
"-same answer Nate...I am ok"
"Alright then, while we wait for Prince Charming, we should play beach volleyball " he frowns "right after we set up our city of refuge " I rolled my eyes
Nathan picks up the beach mats, spread them and sets the place up for two people
"Nate, there's supposed to be three, Levi is coming " surprised at Nathan's short memory
"Ooh-" he looked as if he was tryna figure out something
"Alright, I would just go play in the water while you talk to Prince Charming "
"No-" Nathan was taken aback at my sudden outburst "-I mean,he's not Prince Charming and you should probably stay, you might be interested in his business or something " the truth is, I don't know if I can face Levi alone, I wanna be pissed but I can't be, I don't know why probably because i can't see anything wrong in what he did, also, I expected him to be a normal guy, not a rich spoilt brat
'He didn't seem like a spoilt brat now did he?' Subconscious adds
'I wouldn't hesitate to shove you down a toilet if you ain't quiet and let me think'
' I'd love to see you try'
Ok, alright, I now talk to my Subconscious self, slowly I am going crazy.....crazy! crazy!! Crazy!!!

3:00pm
Nathan managed to mingle with some people at the beach, he got them to join us in volleyball and other beach games. Levi hasn't showed up yet. I feel really stupid. I should have known that he wasn't going to show up, why would he come all the way here just to make peace with me, a poor retched girl, he could buy himself friends with all the money he had so it's not biggie if I wanted to talk to him or not.
5:00pm
The beach is starting to get rowdy, it seems like there is gonna be a party here, I quit playing as I sit under the umbrella watching the sun set alone, Nathan is still playing beach games though, as expected Levi isn't here yet.
Yet? Is he ever going to be here? In a way I expected this but I still gave him the benefit of a doubt, I thought this is Levi we are talking about here, he knew where I live and what I do for a living so he knew I was poor and he still spoke to me he even allowed me read to his daughter , Alexa.. I miss her.
I ignored the fact that he's rich, he could just ditch me for anything. This just proves that he is the same as others
cocky, proud, and arrogant.
"Levi isn't here yet?" Nate comes over to me with a bottle of vodka and two red cups
"Nahhh" I tried to sound unbothered " he probably isn't coming anymore "
"You can't say that Zoe, maybe something came up, have you tried calling him?" Now that I think about it, something may be up, OMG I've been so selfish,what if he has been involved in an accident or something related
I hope Alexa is ok, l hope He is ok.
"Relax Zoe, he is probably stuck with something , but for now-" he handed me a red cup "-you'd need this " he said and walked back to the party
I took a sip, damn it's hot, I totally underestimated this particular brand. I took more and went back to Nathan's car and picked my phone, I had three missed calls and three messages. Since the messages would have a valid explanation as to why I was ditched I decided to read em
L: hey, something came up but I'd be there by noon.
L: I should be there in a minute
L: shit, family emergency Zoey, I promise I would show up as soon as I can, or I would make it up to you.
'Anything to stay away from the poor girl with family issues hun' I said to myself as i took another sip, I feel kinda tipsy but who cares.
"Damn you Levi, I'm having fun tonight with or without you" I sipped on the cup and walked to the party area.
