*THIRTY-NINE*

Forth's POV

When we got to the hospital we were sent to the obgyn floor. I felt so nervous because I couldn't tell what Beam was thinking. His eyes just looked blank and I don;t know what to do to help him.

"Hey are you okay?" I asked

"Yeah I'm just nervous"

"Why?"

"Well because I know that your parents will be excited for this. They're already over the moon for Wayo's baby. If I told mine I'm sure they would try to force me to get an abortion"

"Is.....that what you want?" I asked hesitantly

"An abortion? God no. I'm not going to get rid of our baby because they don't agree. They have no room to talk. They're not even good parents" Beam said with a furrowed brow

I couldn't help but smile. He said our baby. I could tell that his childhood wasn't the best because he asked me not to be like them. He thought I would leave him. And just now he felt angry

towards them because he knew they wouldn't approve. I won't ask him, he'll tell me his past when he's ready.

We were called into a treatment room and it just felt intense. Like we're going to see our baby. When we were here 2 weeks ago they were too small to see and it only showed the sac. So this is when we get to hear the heartbeat.

Why do you look more nervous than me? You're not even the one whos pregnant? Beam laughed

"So, This is my first kid of course I'm going to be nervous" Just as I said that the doctor walked in.

"So judging by your chart you should be 6 weeks, I'm not even going to bother introducing myself since we already know each other. But isn't funny, I'm in charge of prenatal care for my grandchild and now I giving that same care to my son's best friend"

"Hey Mr. Kongthanian" Beam said nervously

"Beam you can't be serious. I've known you since grade school. You can call me Earth"

"And you.......Does Vernon know?" He asked while pointing to me

"No , we haven't told my parents yet. We're waiting until the second trimester" I replied

"Okay understandable. Now let's take a look, Beam lay back, I'm going to put some gel on your abdomen. It'll be cold and you might feel some pressure but don't worry it's normal"

I held Beam's hand and we just looked at the screen. Honestly I can tell what anything is because it's just all grey.

"Okay well here's the gestational sac.........oh my" His voice trailed off

"What? why did your voice change?" Beam asked while starting to cry

"Is something wrong with the baby?" I could feel tears start to form in my eyes.

"No nothing's wrong. Do you see that?" Dr Earth said as he pointed to the sac. "That is your baby"

"That's the baby? We can actually see it now. And It's moving like crazy" Beam said

"Yes the baby is big enough to see, now if I move the wand over here, do you see that"

"Yeah, that's the baby" Beam said

"We'll yeah it's a baby but not the baby"

"Okay I'm confused" I said while scratching my head

"Well from the looks of this, there are two babies in the sac"

"TWO!" Beam and I screamed in unison

"Yes two, it's a set of twins" Dr. Earth said happily
