When they almost die protecting you

Yuma
* Yuma would never like to actually die, he has so much he wants to do and see and accomplish
* He may be the world duel carnival champion but he wants to accomplish more than that
* But recently, after falling in love with you, he doesn't think it would be so bad to die if it meant you got to live
* And that's exactly what was running through his mind when a new foe from another world was threatening astral world and you had been held captive
* Yuma was doing his best to out duel this person
* But he was weak, tired and couldn't for the life of him get back up from being knocked down because of the ongoing attacks
* Kite and Shark were alongside him duelling
* But that didn't make it any easier for you, to watch him constantly being attacked
* They succeeded and managed to free you, and even if you were injured the first thing you did was run to Yuma
* He insisted he was fine to try and make you less frantic but it wasn't quite working
* Considering he had hit his head and there was blood coming from somewhere
* He just smiled at you and told you he was still fine
* It hurt him more to see you upset than anything else
* Orbital took him to the hospital while Kite and Shark dealt with everything else
* You could stay with him and you were informed of everything and how close he had been to actually dying
* Of course it was scary for him too
* But he held your hand and asked you to stay with him before he fell asleep
* And in truth he didn't really mind the whole ordeal overall, because the next day he was wanting to get back on his feet and hug you and duel again

Shark
* Shark had once "died" before and ever since he'd been a bit uncaring about death per say
* He was "dead" for maybe a few days before he and everyone he knew was brought back by the numeron code
* So he had stopped taking it seriously and started taking more risks
* And then he met you
* And suddenly he felt a greater want to take care of himself because you'd seen him injured before and it upset you
* And he never wanted to upset you
* But one day, you were in heartland tower with Yuma and Kite and everyone else after something had gone wrong and Mr Heartland had come back
* And he had sent those litter bots after you, the ones that had injured him before
* One came right at you with their weapons, he threw himself in front of you
* And he was slashed right across the stomach
* Which caused him to collapse
* But the thing that hurt him most was when you screaMed because he was bleeding and hurt and that was scary
* And even though he was in blinding pain, he still couldn't bare to see you upset because of him
* And you had him in your arm on the floor
* Rio was giving him hell for not being careful
* But he just looked at you and took your hands and kissed your knuckles and said everything would be fine
* In a voice he would only use for you
* He doesn't want to move out of your arms, all he wants to do is stay with you and hope his injury goes away so he can get back up and protect you again
* He doesn't hold any grudge against you or anything
* The moment he's all healed he uses this as a bragging opportunity
* "You know I got this scar protecting my girlfriend? Yeah it was no big deal"

Kite
* Kite never really cared what happened to him
* He cared about you and Hart and maybe Yuma etc, but not himself because he knew he was powerful, and he never really needed to look out for his own safety
* Really though he thought he'd been through it all, being trapped under buildings, duelling on the moon for a legendary, time warping card, so how could anything get worse?
* WelL
* There was a bomb underneath the building you were in, set there by some new villains
* And said bomb had gone off
* And the building was collapsing around you
* He'd pushed you out of the way of a piece of ceiling while you were trying to escape the building
* Orbital was with you, you were holding Hart in your arms and Kite had pushed you both out of the way, only to be hit by the piece of ceiling himself
* You put Hart on the floor but he still clung to you while you and Orbital tried to lift the piece of debris
* He kept telling you to leave but none of you wanted to
* Eventually you sent Hart to go and find some help and you didn't have any more strength to try and lift the debris
* So you sat next to Kite and spoke to him so he would stay awake
* You kissed his forehead and he smiled at you
* He kept telling you that when he got out from under the debris he would hug you
* And he can't stop looking at you, so if he did die, at least your face would be the last thing he would see
* And he was okay with that
* He told you that he loved you, and you said it back
* And he held your hands
* But the moment Hart arrived with Yuma and Shark to help, he got back to scowling and telling them to hurry up
* Luckily he wasn't too hurt, just some bruising
* You were sure if he'd stayed under there for another few moments he would have suffocated, but it didn't happen, so it's okay
* And he did hug you, he immediately got up and hugged you like he said he would
* You had to help him walk out of the building, but you all made it out safely
* You still took him to the Arclights and Quinton gave a better evaluation of his health to be sure
