Chapter 17: Promise?

"Yeah, I haven't seen little Mia since then." Victoria said referring to her lost kitten.

"How long did you have her? You know, before she esca-got lost?" I asked guiding her by the small of her back, inside.

We were now walking into the palace after walking around for half an hour. I was really tired.

Who knew women could talk that much? I could barely hold down a conversation for a specific amount of time.

"I had her for about five years." She said. "Oh I remember you had a pet turtle? What happened to it?" She asked chuckling.

I laughed. "I didn't really take good care of it. You can guess what happened next to leo." I said scratching my head.

"How unfortunate." She said shaking her head.

"I remember you being so irresponsible before." She chuckled.

"Well I guess you can say I've changed."I said looking down at her.

Victoria wasn't actually all that bad. I learned some stuff about her and I told her a few things about myself.

"Oh! Justin darling? Victoria?" We turned our direction towards the grand spiral stairs where we saw my mother descending.

"Queen," Victoria smiled as she did a brief bow.

I kissed my mom's cheek and came down the rest of the stairs with her.

"Justin I am not that old." She said hitting my shoulder.

I smiled at her. Even in her fifties she still managed to look a couple years back. I knew she wasn't that old, but I liked to help her every once in a while.

"It's so nice to see you, Lady Victoria." My mom said as she hugged Victoria dearly.

She whispered something in her ear before the two giggled.

Women.

"Its such a surprise to see you. I wasn't expecting you at all." Mother said.

"I thought I should stop by. I also wanted to catch up with Justin," the brunette said turning to look at me.

"Alright then, Well thank you so much for doing so. All Justin does is stay in his room And keep to himself." The Queen said glancing at me then shaking her head.

I playfully rolled my eyes. "Mother, I'm not antisocial." I said.

"Hm, I don't recall the last time your friends have stopped by to visit?" She said to me.

"I'll invite them some other time." I said chuckling.

"Well that won't be necessary. I'll be hosting a get together ball right here in the palace in a couple of weeks. Its been such a while.." She said With a wide smile.

I inwardly sighed. Another one of those....

When my mother says she's doing something, she means she's doing something. She never sleeps on anything.

Even on the smallest events she goes all out with everything.

And even if its as simple as a 'get together' you can expect everything to be overrated. Especially since there will be people from the highest caliber likely attending

"This ball will be grand! Maybe I could help you plan it?" Victoria asked my mom.

"Oh that won't be necessary, its a lot of work, dear." My mom replied as she fanned herself.

"Oh that's just fine, I don't mind helping out." Victoria said.

"You're too kind, it'll be just fine if you'd help."

Victoria was going to be in for a surprise at how much work That was going to be put in.

"Ohh I can't wait, already! Its going to be wonderful! I can already hear the soft music and see the guests dancing." My mom said swooning.

She was just too much.

"Likewise. Justin, I heard you are a great dancer." Victoria said with both eyebrows raised.

I smirked. "Indeed I am."

"It would be a great pleasure to dance with you at the ball. We will be dancing, right?" She asked hopefully.

"Promise." I chuckled.

It wouldn't be too bad.

A smile spread on my face as an idea entered my mind.

I'm definitely bringing Iman to this ball.

I just have to. It would be the perfect time to show her off...

I can already imagine how beautiful and elegant she'd look.

Yes, I'm definitely asking her to this event.

"Please excuse me" I said politely as I left the two women to continue talking and planning the party.

I needed to think.

I would love to ask her to this event. But I had to take in to consideration of how Iman acted the other times I took her out. I noticed how she enjoyed just the little things I did for her.

She didn't like it when I went all out for her such as taking her to dinner on a fancy boat.

I smiled.

Maybe I won't say that I'm taking her to the palace.

I'll think of something later.

I just can't wait to show her off and tell the world that I've found someone special.

I also can't wait to introduce her to my family.

She is just perfect.

But as of right now,I have a lot of time on my hands to sort some things out.
