I really like writing songfics, so here's another one for Oliaxa

And I think I'm having a TS phase so that's why all these songs have been TS

But they fit, so...
Song: Begin Again by Taylor Swift

Took a deep breath in the mirror
He didn't like it when I wore high heels, but I do

It was cloudy outside, matching Lia's mood. She looked at herself in the mirror before grabbing some heels and slipping them on. If she was being totally honest, she didn't know why she agreed to a blind date set up by her friend Eliza. Especially right after her breakup with Tray.

Turned the lock and put my headphones on
He always said he didn't get this song but I do, I do

As she drove to the café, she put on her favorite song. She glanced out the window, hoping that it wouldn't rain.

Walked in expecting you'd be late
But you got here early and you stand and wait
I walk to you

He'd always been late to their dates, but as soon as Lia walked through the door she saw a spiky-haired boy wave her over.

You pull my chair out and help me in
And you don't know how nice that is, but I do

The boy stood up and pulled her chair out for her, like a gentleman. Something Tray had absolutely never done.

And you throw your head back laughing like a little kid
I think it's strange that you think I'm funny 'cause he never did

As they sat their with their coffees, Lia got to know the boy better. His name was Kai, he was a close friend of Eliza's. Even though she'd only known him for a few minutes, Lia already felt more comfortable around him than she had with anyone.

I've been spending the last eight months thinking all love ever does
Is break and burn and end

Kai had a fiery spirit, but it wasn't malicious. It was more like the soothing crackling of the warm fireplace on Christmas Eve. It matched Lia's. Tray's most definitely hadn't.

But on a Wednesday in a café I watched it begin again

She thought she'd been in love before, but it never felt like this.

You said you never met one girl who
Had as many James Taylor records as you, but I do

They had so much in common- music tastes, academic interests, and hobbies.

We tell stories and you don't know why
I'm coming off a little shy, but I do

Even so, Lia held a reserve. She didn't want this to turn out like her last relationship.

But you throw your head back laughing like a little kid
I think it's strange that you think I'm funny 'cause he never did

Soon though, Kai melted her barriers. She couldn't hold back from him anymore.

I've been spending the last eight months thinking all love ever does
Is break and burn and end

Something told her that Kai wasn't like him, not at all.

But on a Wednesday in a café I watched it begin again

A little spark ignited in her heart, and she knew that soon it would grow to a raging fire that could easily take over her mind and soul. But strangely, she welcomed it.

And we walk down the block to my car
And I almost brought him up

After they left the café, Kai offered to walk her to her car, which she accepted. She'd told him almost everything about her so far, with the exception of one thing: her ex. She was debating on whether or not to say something.

But you start to talk about the movies
That your family watches every single Christmas
And I won't talk about that

But then Kai changed the topic, talking about his family. His parents were blacksmiths living in Ignacia, and he had a younger sister who lived at the same place he did close to Ninjago city.

And for the first time
What's past is past

Lia could finally let go of the past. It was like pulling a hot spike from her forehead.

'Cause you throw your head back laughing like a little kid
I think it's strange that you think I'm funny 'cause he never did

Gods, he was so cute, with a flawless sense of humor mixed in with his fiery spirit.

I've been spending the last eight months thinking all love ever does
Is break and burn and end

Love didn't just hurt, was what Lia realized. That's not what it was meant to do.

Then on a Wednesday in a café I watched it begin again

Just before she left, Lia gave Kai her number on a slip of paper.

Then on a Wednesday in a café I watched it begin again

She could see him wave in the rearview mirror of her car.

Best. First. Date. Ever.
