While the man in the clown mask was whining about the black sword, Tanjiro's crow and my raven swooped in. They began speaking in unison. "Tanjiro Kamado! (y/n) (l/n)! Here are your orders! Make your way to a town to the northwest." I was shocked, I didn't know they could talk... The crow and raven proceeded. " Night after night, young girls have been vanishing there!" Tanjiro looked to me concerned. "Young girl.." He whispered underneath his breath. (a/n aw he's worried :c) "Hunt down the demon there and kill it!" My raven then turned to me. "Prepare yourself well for this task."This is your first assignment as demon slayers!" They spoke in unison once again. "My first assignment.." Tanjiro said excitedly but his voice was somewhat shaky.
The next morning, Tanjiro and I scurried to get dressed. I took off my night gown, only to be left in undergarments. Tanjiro walked in. "(y/n), are you ready t-" I looked up at him and shrieked, my face a bright color of red. "Don't just stare, get out!!" I yelled. Tanjiro looked down, the same color of crimson and said hurriedly, "I'msosorrypleaseforvigeme I'll get out now." And ran out of the room. My heart was racing but I continued to get dressed. I put on my demon corps uniform, just dark brown colored dress, ( or pants if you want ) and added (f/c) socks, my beloved haori, and carried my sword at my hip. "Okay I'm ready now." I said as I walked out. Tanjiro's face was still as red as a tomato, but it was actually kind of cute. "Not so fast." Mr. Urokodaki said. "Are both of you ready?" Tanjiro and I nodded and Mr. urokodaki 'hmphed' in response.
"There's something I need to explain to you two." Mr .Urokodaki began to speak. "Right." Me and Tanjiro said in unison. "The demon slayer corps outfit that both of you are wearing right now... Is made from a special type of fiber. It is quite breathable, yet won't absorb moisture and isn't easy to burn. Low level demons wouldn't even be able to tear it." He continued. He then turned to Tanjiro. "Also, that Nichirin sword of yours..The color varies from the bearer, and each has unique properties. Not Many people end up with black, so we know very little about them." He then told Tanjiro about how black blades were usually wielded by swordsmen who won't go far. Tanjiro didn't look dejected at all, and smiled at Nezuko. "I dont care about how far ill go as a swordsmen, but I will turn Nezuko back into a human." Mr. Urokodaki smiled and then reached for a box. "There's one more thing. It's to carry your sister in the day. This box is made out of 'cloud mist pine' a certain type of wood that is very light." Tanjiro walked over to it and picked it up. "It is really light!" He smiled. I couldn't help but smile too. Nezuko crawled out of her bed and shrunk down to size to fit inside the box.
"We'll be on our way now!" Tanjiro said. I looked over to him then smiled. Mr. Urokodaki walked over to Tanjiro. "Do you mind?" He asked. Tanjiro just nodded and Mr. Urokodaki fixed his collar. 'They looked so much like father and son'. I thought to myself. Father... To my own surprise a small tear fell down my cheek. I quickly wiped it away before anybody could see. "Bye Mr. Urokodaki!" Tanjiro and I yelled as we were walking. "Our first mission!" I said as I looked over to Tanjiro. He smiled at me and reached up to caress my cheek, but before his skin touched mine he quickly pulled away. I frowned slightly but it wasn't a big deal. "Sorry for this morning..." He said while looking away. "It's fine, it was just an accident!" I reassured. We began to walk in silence on our way to the "town in the northwest" as the crow described.
We were only about halfway, but I decided to spark up some conversation. "Tanjiro, what's your favorite food?" I asked. "..Well If I had to choose, it would be plum seaweed rice balls." He said with a sparkle in his eyes. I laughed at his child like mention of the food. "I'll make you some when I get the chance. Mitsuhide sensei also taught me how to cook while we were training." Tanjiro chuckled. "Make food for me? What are we, newlyweds?" He continued to laugh while my face had a pink tint to it. "No of course not! I just wanted to make something for you.." I said. He stopped laughing and stopped in his tracks. I stopped too. "what are you doing? were gonna arrive there super late if we stop walking!" He just looked at me, and then began walking towards me. What is he gonna d- But before I could finish my thought, he put his hand on my head gently. "I'll be waiting to taste it." He said and then flashed one of his signature kind smiles. I Looked at him blushing slightly. We began walking once again, not wanting to loose more time.
We walked a little bit more until we crossed a bridge into a large town. "Could this be the 'town to the northwest?'" I asked outloud. "Maybe?" Tanjiro said. We walked into the lively town . The streets (where y/n belongs SORRY BAHAH) were bustling with people, but there was a beaten boy walking slow. "Poor thing.." I whispered. As Me and Tanjiro walked past him, I heard some ladies gossip. "Look there's kazumi..Poor thing. He looks so haggard." I couldn't help but wonder why, so I may have eavesdropped. "Because he was with satako when she was taken." she said. "Night after night...It's so creepy." Other villagers said. "When night falls, yet another girl will be abducted!"
I Looked over to Tanjiro. "I think we found the town.." I said nervously. Tanjiro nodded and headed to the "kazumi" boy.
