seven-

hoseok looked out the window of the moving carriage, eyes trailing over the blended gray clouds of the sky as if they were the most interesting thing in the world. to him they really were.

there were three days until the wedding with prince yoongi. three days until he was sold to the north.

the wedding would be in the northern kingdom where yoongi lived. hoseok heard it was a cold and icy world of snow, the blizzards there unforgiving to all living things, let alone the flowers and plants that thrived in the east.

it felt like it had only been a few days since him and the prince first met but it had been over six months. the summer weather turned into a chilly autumn, the sun going down a lot quicker than it usually did. hoseok hated winter, he always has, yet here he was, going to live unhappily in what seemed like an endless storm of ice and snow.

they had already been traveling for hours and luckily, they had already gone through the boarders and were just on their way to the kingdom's capital where the royal family lived.

"you okay, hoseokie?" seokjin who was seated across from him asked, supporting taehyung's full sleeping weight as the raven haired boy leaned on his older brother.

"i'm fine." hoseok smiled sadly at him. "i'm just gonna really miss this. your guy's friendship i mean, i've never not had you in my life and i'm not quite sure what i'll do without you."

seokjin looked at him with sympathetic eyes. "i know how you feel hoseok, we're not sure what we'll do without you either. but i just want you to know that we want you to be happy."

hoseok's eyes traveled to the roof of the carriage, feeling the familiar heat in his eyes as the tears started welling up. "i know, but i won't be happy without you guys." he smiled almost bitterly as a single tear rolled down his cheek, the droplet hanging off his chin for a few seconds before falling to his fluffy robes, leaving it to soak in to the light yellow fabric.

"i know hoseokie, i know." the older said with the same sad expression he gave when hoseok scraped his knee when he was a child, or the same look he gave him after coming out of his first heat. he really was such a parent, such a caring person.

a sad cloud settled in the air for a couple moments, hoseok now staring out of the carriage window at the falling snow while seokjin pet taehyung's hair flat before twisting them back up into curls.

then seokjin began to hum.

it was a familiar tune, one that he had whistled, hummed, or sang in the past. seokjin and taehyung had always been singers, it was like it was in their blood to sing. seokjin in particular had always been humming a toon whether he was cleaning, cooking or practicing the instruments he was determined to learn, there was always a song in his head that he doesn't remember hearing but sang out anyway. the song was the biggest mystery in the kingdom to the three.

as upset as he was he couldn't help but smile at the familiarity of the toon, basking in the soft sound.

"we'll stay with you seok, even if they say we can't. we'll fight to stay by your side." and hoseok couldn't help but smile at seokjin's words.

hoseok was a nervous reck by the time they actually got to the kingdom, seeing so many frost covered buildings and intimidating black and white wolves made his mind rush with so many scary possibilities. what if the prince threw him out once he was done with him? how would he servive the winter? would the kingdom eat him alive? would he die unhappy-

"hyung, we're here!" taehyung, who had woken up about half an hour before, whispered excitedly, legs tapping up and down in anticipation.

"we're here?!" hoseok hadn't even noticed they passed the gate! he quickly looked out the window to see a massive white castle. he'd heard about the northern kingdom, how it was rumored the stone they used to make the castle was so white it looked like it was made of ice and snow, and now he. knew what the rumors meant. it was roughly the same side as the castle back home but much less colorful, much less alive.

he didn't have much time to dwell on it though because right then the door was swung open by one of his guards, who held a hand out to them. "prince hoseok, sir seokjin, sir taehyung. we have arrived at the northern kingdom." the alpha guard raised his hand higher to hoseok, who took it gingerly and allowed him to help him onto the snowy ground. the other too looked even more shy, not used to being called 'sir' as if they were nobles, but his parents had personally requested they be treated well.

once they were all out the second guard joined them on their other side and hoseok finally got to focus on the people actually ahead of them, probably there to greet them.

"prince hoseok, it's a pleasure to meet you." a man dressed in noble clothing said and to which hoseok smiled and did the same. the man was handsome, tall and blonde, dark sharp eyes staring at him in a warm way he didn't know was possible for sharp eyes, skin tanner than those around him as if he was often in the sun and dimples. the cutest and deepest dimples hoseok had ever seen and he found himself smiling wider. there was nothing  about the man that wasn't perfect.

"i'm sorry my parents couldn't help me welcome you, they are busy at the moment. and my brother is off doing who knows what." parent's? brother? just who is this-ohhh.

"min namjoon." hoseok gaped at the man, wondering how in the goddamn world him and his brother were related.

"it's the eyes if your wondering. let's just say yoongi looks a lot more like our mom and i look more like my dad." his dimples popped out again and hoseok smiled

"i suppose that explains it. it's wonderful to meet you, prince namjoon." he said as namjoon leaned down to kiss the knuckles of his hand before his sharp eyes found his friends behind him.

"you must be the prince's personal advisors. it's nice to meet you" he said, bowing to them before proceeding to kiss each of their hands as well, making the two omegas cheeks paint themselves a pretty shade of red. they weren't his royal advisers, they were simply his friends and servants, but he'd be fine with it if his parents said otherwise. the alpha lingered on seokjin a little longer than taehyung, smiling at him a little extra before showing them and their guards to their quarters. it was normal for alphas, betas and even omegas to dote on seokjin if not both kim brothers extra long in order to see their beauty. it usually led to courting but hoseok knew that was impossible seeing namjoon's status, and the alpha probably knew it too.

the rooms were nice, the guards shared a room next to hoseok's while the other two shared a room on his other side, but they all pouted to namjoon until they could a share a room much to their delights.

"i'm sure you'll see yoongi at dinner tonight, prince hoseok. it's at six so please join us then in the dinning quarters, but until then your free to do whatever you'd like." namjoon said with one last dimply smile, eyes flashing to seokjin for a couple seconds before walking out of the door.

"oh my god. did you see him? that was the most beautiful man i've ever seen in my life and i exist." seokjin groaned, falling backwards onto the bed with his hands covering his flushed face.

"he was eyeing you a lot, hyung!" taehyung teased, before looking back hoseok with a grin. he smiled back , knowing taehyung never read the books he and seokjin had been forced read so he didn't really know about how royals can only court other royals and seokjin was not a royal.

"let's just relax for a couple hours before the dinner, alright?" hoseok yawned and collapsed into the bed. he was going to see yoongi in a couple hours, and he wasn't sure if the way his heart raced at the thought was out excitement or fear.
