Kartik woke up with a heavy head, he was still dizzy after the Hangover! As he woke up he saw Naira in front of him, she was crying continuously, Kartik was shocked to see where he was.
"What is all this Kartik? Why did you do this to yourself? Look at your condition? Do you still love me? Do you still care for me Kartik?" Many questions were running in Naira's head
"No Naira! The person who didn't understand you, 2 years back, the person who didn't give you a chance, the person who you loved the most, but what did he do? He just asked you to leave his life? It was very easy for you to say that! But don't forget that, as I came out of your life, my life ended the same day! I loved you so much, but what I got in return, was only betrayal, and no trust! Why don't you trust me Kartik?" Naira said to herself
All this was heard by Kartik, but he was still dizzy, Naira saw him waking up and she wiped her tears and got up
"Naira.....!" Kartik said but got cut off when Naira spoke
"Kartik, I don't want to speak to you! You need not give me any explanation, thank you! Leave me alone." Naira said and walked, but Kartik held her hand and pulled her closer
"But I want to talk!"
"Kartik leave me, I don't want to listen to you, or your justification!" Naira said sternly
"Yeah, that's what you know, running away from things! That's what you did 2 years back right." Kartik replied
"Kartik! Don't forget, that it was your mistake, you were the one who asked me to leave you, and go away from there. Didn't you?" Naira said, which bought a sudden silence in the room
"Now, I don't want to talk to you, I am going from here! You go home, everyone must be worried for you." Naira said looking away
"Why are you here with me? And first of all, why am I here?" Kartik questioned
"That you should know, you were drunk yesterday, and you created a chaos in the whole bar, so I had to get you here!"
"So you still care for me?" Kartik asked sternly
"My caring or not caring, doesn't matter to you! All you know is blaming people for something they never did!"
"Naira! Don't forget that because of you, my brother is not with me today. Only and only because of you! I hate you Naira, I hate you!" He shouted, making Naira remember the same words, he said 2 years back.
"And yet, till today you are doing the same thing! You always believe what you see, which is not always the truth! Did you give me a chance to explain or justify myself?" Naira asked
"Every person, after doing a mistake, justifies himself! And we all know what the truth is."
"You don't! But now, enough! I am not interested in talking to you anymore." Naira said and went out
Her eyes were full of tears as the same words kept on ringing in her mind, 'I hate you Naira, I hate you!'
As she was walking she bumped into someone, and her bag fell down
"Sorry Sir! Are you okay?" She said and stood up
"You? Naira beta!" The man said
"Papa! How are you?" It was Manish!
"I am fine, beta, what are you doing here?"
For a moment Naira didn't say anything, it was 2 years since she met that family! She was still, but came back to reality, when Manish spoke
"Naira! How come you are here?" Manish asked
"What should I say him now? If his family gets to know about drinking, they will get really upset about it! I can't say this to him." Naira thought
"Were you here with Kartik?" Manish asked making Naira shocked
"No....no Papa!"
"Beta, you need not lie to me, Keerti said me that you are not home, and even Kartik wasn't home, so we thought you are with Kartik. Is it true?"
"Haan Papa! Yesterday, Kartik was drunk, and he was creating a problem in the bar, so I had to get him here! I am sorry." Naira said
"It's okay beta! This is his condition in these 2 years, almost every day he comes home like this!" Manish said, which made Naira even more shocked
"We tried our best to make him understand, but he didn't understand! He used to always come home drunk. This is very common for us in these 2 years." Manish said
"What? Why Papa? You all should have stopped him, he is risking his life in this!"
"Do you think we didn't stop him? But he never listened to us! Many things changed in these 2 years beta! As you left this house, it's not the same like that anymore!" Manish said, to which Naira had a sad face
"Papa, I will take a leave now! Everyone might be worried at home for me." Naira said
"But where is Kartik?"
"He is in the room, getting freshen up!"
"Thank you for taking care of him beta!" Manish said
"It's okay Papa, he is my husband too......." Naira said but realised what she said, she just went from there, without saying anything!
Manish went into the room where Kartik was
"Papa? How come you are here?" Kartik asked shockingly
"I should be asking that question! You were drunk last night right? And Naira bought you here! Right?" Manish asked
"All she can do is complain! Nicely she went and said papa about it." Kartik thought
"Papa, I don't want to talk about this! You already know everything, and yet you ask me the same question!" Kartik said
"I don't know when this boy will understand! Only Naira can take care of him."
