"If you have knowledge, let's others light their candles in it."
- Margaret Fuller

"I don't like M-Mike." y/n stuttered nervously, soft pink painted across her cheeks. The girls had taken y/n to the mall to discuss their 'plan.' The Starcourt mall had been rebuilt and now it was open for business once again. "Oh, is that why you got so flustered by merely mentioning his name just now?" Max asked with an cocked eyebrow and teasing grin. y/n looked down at the ground to hide the pink color in her cheeks from the overly excited girls. "Don't worry, he likes you too. I mean, why else would he give you that mixtape? Because you guys are 'just friends'?" El questioned with a giggle as Max gave y/n a small smirk.

"I- uh, listen, maybe he used to like me when we were kids, but not anymore. He probably likes some really pretty, popular girl." y/n sighed sadly. "But you're a beautiful girl and from what I've heard, you're also pretty popular." y/n shook her head as El gave her a sympathetic look and then a bright smile spread on the brunette's face. "I have an idea." Max looked at her in confusion and El gave her a 'don't worry about it' look. "Where are we going?" y/n asked as she ran through the mall holding Max and El's hands. "Will you guys just trust me!" El said with a laugh.

The girls ran all the way across the mall until they finally reached a little ice cream shop. "Ice cream always cheers me up when I'm feeling blue." El said with a smile that made y/n feel a bit better. Although she didn't admit it to Max an El, y/n could really go for some ice cream right about now. The girls entered the ice cream parlor and were immediately greeted by the employees. "Ahoy ladies!" A worker with big, brown hair yelled from behind the counter, Max and El smiled brightly. "Hey, Steve! I thought you and Robin worked at the video store now?" Max asked as the girls walked up to the counter. "We work here part time, we need the money for college. Robin and I can't live off of microwave dinners forever." Steve said with a small chuckle, the girls all laughed along, until a girl with dirty blonde hair emerged from the back of the store.

"Hey dingus! Get back to work, they're not paying us to make chitchat with the custom- MAX! EL!" She shouted excitedly as she hopped over the counter and brought the two girls into a tight hug. She pulled away and looked over at y/n with a small smile. "Who's this? A new friend?" She asked turning to Max and El. "This is y/n. She's been friends with Mike, Will, Lucas, and Dustin for a long time, but we just started hanging out with her." El explained to the girl.

She then turned on her heel back to y/n and stuck out her hand. y/n admired her beautiful rings before she shook her hand and gave her a smile. "Well, y/n, I'm Robin. Very nice to meet you, this dingus over here is Steve." Robin said pointing behind the counter to Steve, he waved to the h/c haired girl struggling to smile, he secretly shoved a handful of chocolate chips into his mouth when Robin wasn't looking.
