I used to wake up to yellow sunflowers breezing from the wind. Birds tweeting and neighbours walking by smiling like there's no tomorrow. In some cases now? There might not even be a tomorrow.
I opened my eyes squinting at the sun as Noah slid open the curtains harshly.
" Come on... we have jobs to do."

Noah's my best friend. He got me here at the sanctuary with some other guys. But Noah is like me, we are used for being slaves. Being apart of the sanctuary is like being rich to poor.
Obviously me and Noah was put into the poor list.
" What's on the timetable?" I groaned pushing the blanket back over my shoulders.
He smiled at me and sat on the edge of the bed.
" I know you hate it here. I did too. But we are safe here and we get fed here too, that's all that matters." I new he was right in a way but I've always wanted to be apart of the others. Not being a slave but instead being a survivor. Threw the week I only get to go on one run which can change days every week. Noah's the same too.

I took a huge yawn and sat up facing Noah with my frizzy bed head. " We are cleaning the gates today." He added standing back up and throwing clothes at me.
" You totally should wear these." He giggled running out before I could throw them back at him.

It was the worst outfit I would ever wear. Not to mention it's not for rich people either but we take it as a brilliant reward for us poor people.
I stood and stretched for a while grabbing my jumper and skinny blue jeans which by the way, did not suite at all.

I walked threw the crowd of strangers and finally reached for the front door, only to be stopped by Simon.
" I see you've missed some of your training." He smirked putting his hand on the door stopping me from leaving.

I remained calm with him. He was really bad tempered and I really didn't want him storming off snitching to Negan on how I didn't give a toss about training with him.
" Nothing to say? Or you just know that I fucked up your plan." He laughed keeping a straight face.
My plan on the days of the training was to figure out how to escape this place. That's the only time I can figure this place out because all the others will be training with different teachers. Mine had to be Simons though.
" I forgot." I lied bitting my lip.
He stayed quiet for awhile until he let go of the door.

" Training is tonight, don't come? There will be consequences." He warned walking away from me.
I stood for a moment to catch my breath before walking over to Noah who looks like is ahead with his job on the gates.
" I'm winning." Noah laughed putting the sponge back in the bucket of bubbly water.

I just rolled my eyes and grabbed my bucket and filled it with water and put liquid in it too. The cold air breezed in my face as I walked back to the gate with the sponge in my hand. Looking at the dirt on the gate, I put the sponge in the water and threw it on the gate effortlessly. " I've had enough of this shit." I sighed taking one quick look at  Noah. Only to realise Negan was glaring at me from behind Noah.
My sweat from the sun became sweat from fear. I'm positive that he heard what I said. Noah stood still carrying on his chores silently while I almost pissed my jeans.

I faced away from his big brown eyes and stared at the gate slowly scrubbing it with the sponge.
I felt the wind of his breath on my neck from my right side to my left. It made me feel so nervous. He would treat the poor like criminals. But he was different with me. He would tease me until I shown him I was pissed off. But I didn't want that to happen.

" What shit?" He smirked looking at my side angle. I carried on working and ignored his question even though he didn't bother to move his eyes off me.
" I mean your doing great work on this gate my lady but it's very rude to not answer my question!" He sarcastically said taking a step closer with his face so close to mine.
I turned my head to face him and realised that his nose was so close to mine.
" What... Shit." He whispered crossing his eyebrows.
