Chapter 27

Expedition Day

The sound of bell can be heard as we are waiting at the gates of Karanes.

"We've driven away all the Titans in the area." Someone says "Thirty seconds until we open the gate!"

Eren look beside him and he see two kids watching us at their window.

"It's the Survey Corps! They call the emblem on their back the Wings of Freedom!" The kid says to the little girl

"So cool...."

"It's time!  Humanity will take another step forward. Show me what you can do!"

Then all of us raise our blades, ready to fight.

"Open the gate!" Erwin command and the gate open "Advance!"

The expedition starts and all of us head to the gate.

"We will now begin the 57th expedition beyond the walls! Onward!"

Then we passed through the gate and now we are at the abandoned city right outside the gate.

"Mary," Levi called

"Yes captain?"

"Be alert, make sure don't make mistakes, and follow my orders," Levi remind in serious mode while riding his horse

"I know"

"Ahead, to the left,  a 10-meter class!" Hanji says

I can see a 10 meter Titan with big stomach. Then the support team  attack the Titan while all of us continue on moving forward.

"I am very interested in seeing what's inside it's stomach...But I'll leave it to the support team!" Hanji only said

"Onward! Onward!"

Then we continue on our horses at the abandoned city.

"Sir,  can they... Can my classmates beat the Titans?" Eren ask Oluo nervously

"Huh? What have you been doing the past month?" Oluo ask "Listen,  brat... The most crucial part of an expedition is in how you avoid fighting Titans-" Oluo's words cut off when he accidentally bite his tongue AGAIN

I only sigh at Oluo's stupidness. I sometimes wonder how long will his tongue last if he keeps biting his tongue .

"Go into long-range scouting formation!" Erwin announce

All soldiers start to disperse

"Bye shortcake!!" Hanji yelled then go to other direction

Soon all of us are on our formation.

'Erwin is such a genius.  Even without me, he manage to fool those Marleyan Shifters'

We continue on our horses until the walls can no longer be seen. Since we're at the safest part of the formation, we didn't know what exactly happen at the outerpart of the formation.

'Why do I feel something bad is going to happen? I already know what will happen to my squad but there's something more.... and I don't like it.

"Mary? You seem to be in deep thought,"  Petra ask with concern

"I just have a feeling that something bad is going to happen later"

"What?  Then I better prepare myself," Eren says

"Of course something bad is going to happen, you cannot expect good things to happen when it comes to expedition," Oluo says
