"Drink, it'll help you calm down," Inko said as he offered tea over to Izuku who had been crying non-stop as soon as he arrived at her place.

She had been startled upon hearing her doorbell ding and she had expected to see Shoyo and Tobio bickering by her door, so seeing her son with his red, puffy eyes and downcast gaze, had Inko taken aback.

"I-Izuku? What are you... what are you doing here? Why do you look like that? Did something happen with you and Shoto?" Inko asked and she was about to ask some more, had Izuku not launched himself to his mother, and started sobbing.

"I-Izuku?"

Inko had tried to detach her son from her to take a good look at him, but Izuku shook his head and kept his tight embrace while he continued to sob. Not long after, Izuku finally managed to calm down and Inko didn't waste time to usher him to the kitchen and fix him up some tea while she decided to get to the bottom of why her son was in front of her door, crying.

Inko watched Izuku with worry in her eyes as the omega took a small sip from his tea and put the cup back and stared blankly down at it.

"Izuku... what happened?" Inko asked as she reached for her son's trembling hand. "Did... did you get into a fight with Shoto?"

Izuku looked up at her before averting his gaze-- confirming her guess.

"What happened, Izuku? You can tell me," Inko said with a warm smile.

Izuku's bottom lip trembled as tears escaped from his already stinging eyes. "S-Shoto, he... I..." he sobbed.

"Okay... calm down," Inko said, "Crying won't do anything good for you and the baby,"

Izuku covered his face with his hands. "I messed up, mom..." he sobbed as he furiously wiped his tears.

Inko just looked at him, patiently waiting for Izuku to compose himself and tell her everything that had been happening.

"I..." Izuku's voice cracked. "I've dreamt of a happy family all my life and with Shoto claiming me as his mate and later on proposing to me, I thought... it was finally happening,"

"But isn't it?" Inko said. "You're about to get married and now, you're pregnant... you're starting to build the family you've dreamed of,"

Izuku shook his head. "This isn't how I dreamed of it, mom," he answered. "I always thought that the news of me being pregnant would be happy for me and my alpha... instead, it was welcomed with tears and fights..."

Inko sighed. "Look, Izuku... I can't help you if you don't tell me what you and Shoto-kun were fighting about," she said.

Izuku bit his lip and took time to compose himself before he finally spoke. "The announcement of me being pregnant was a shock for me... I... I never thought that I'd get pregnant this early... I'm still not ready mom, I... I'm scared about so many things, that's why I... I told Shoto that I... that I wanted to... t-to..."

Inko looked up at her son in shock as she realized what he was trying to say. "W-why... why would you think about doing that, Izuku?" she asked, disappointment clear in her voice that made Izuku look down in shame.

"I'm scared..." Izuku whispered as he looked down on his cup of tea. "Shoto-kun and you guys were so excited when you found out about the pregnancy... but... I don't think I'm ready yet,"

"Oh, Izuku," Inko sighed. "Nobody is really ready to be pregnant,"

"That's not what I meant, mom," Izuku said before he reached for his chest. "The fear and anxiety is still here... and as long as it's still there, I won't be ready to have a family. I've once watched my family get torn down just because of my second gender... if the child came out an omega... I'm afraid that Shoto-kun might..."
