Sunflowers
sun·flow·er
/ˈsənˌflou(ə)r/
noun
noun: sunflower; plural noun: sunflowers
'a tall North American plant of the daisy family, with very large golden-rayed flowers. Sunflowers are cultivated for their edible seeds, which are an important source of oil for cooking and margarine.'
When sunflowers are young, they track the sun. Following its path like it's a saint. But when the clouds cover it, they feel lost but some still follow the usual path it takes. When the sun sets, they anticipate the arrival of the sun while facing where it rises.
But what happens when the sun disappears and they now have to find their own way around. When they don't have anyone to help them, but themselves.
