The house had an excellent exterior, it was old but didn't looked like one, the fence were there all around the garden and greenery, the front was visible to the outsiders because of the grill door gate of black colour, the boundary walls were of cream and white colour with wooden corners, the guard let the four people in, the entrance was of brick floor, grass and greenery on both sides of the walking path, it wasn't a mansion but a bungalow which was reflecting its age, not modern but not old too, stepping up the steps they rang the bell, it was the sound of birds, excited he rang it again and again and again, after the third time, he was planning to ring it again but before he could the door flung open and a shouting lady with full anger made it vent out on him.

Old Lady: aarahi hoon... kia hua... koi marr gya..... kitni bechainy... hayye hayye..... bol.... kithe si... ki hoya....????

Shehnaaz: hayye.... tussi te panjaban???!!!..... hehe...!!!!!

Old Lady: ghanti kon bajaa raha tha...???

Shehnaaz: yehhhh....!!!

She said pointing her index finger in the direction of Siddharth, all his excitement due to the bell vanished the time when he saw the lady all prepared for attending the scolding sesion and pouring it out, however his so called wife made it easy for him to get scolded properly, he looked at Shehnaaz with the deadliest and stern look but it never like always made any effect on her, just because she never saw him angry and always saw him in cheerful and happy mode so she never knew his anger and can never think of it also, this stern look of his did nothing to her and he knew that, his gaze shifted back to the old lady who was smiling at Shehnaaz but when she looked at him her angry face look came too, he gulped and then scoffed thinking of him being afraid of the four feet lady in front of him, the lady literally had to stretch her whole neck to look at the sixth feet tall and broad man in front of her and he bowed his head down to look at her.

Old Lady: Agara tumhha.... yē lagētā hai... kē tuma labē hō.... mainra mēna kaṛada maiṁ tumasē cūtī hōṁ..... tō maiṁ mukha tumakē ēka bāta yādā dilā.... dūna mukha vōha jinsakā sara uparē... hai caurai maiṁ hai..... tē tuma vō hō jisakā sara jhūkā.... hu'ī hai samanā'ī....!!!?

( agar tumhai yaih lagt hai kai tum lambai ho aur main kadd maiin tumsai chhooti hoon toh main tumhai aik baat yaad dil doon main woh hoon jisk sar upar hai aur chhhaurhai maiin hai aur tum woh ho jisk sar jhuk hu hai ussi chhootai kadd ki aurat kai saamnai. )

Siddharth: jee...????

He asked her about her saying as he wasn't able to understand even a bit of what the lady in front of him was saying, but his question was taken as an agreement in what the lady was saying, because his tone was calm and steady, and his eyes were not reflecting any confusion but only calmness, hence his statement was taken as an agreement and the old lady thought of him that he would know or understand Punjabi, thinking of it all, Siddharth was politely waiting for the lady to answer his question or so that someone would translate it to him but none did, the lady looked at the couple in front of her and smiled deeply, the warmth of that smile was spreading quickly and it amazed all of them, even the two person standing behind the couple could feel the warmth from that toothless smile, the lady moved her hand and caressed the face of Shehnaaz, stopping at her chain, she nudged her chin and looked at Siddharth to ask.

Old Lady: Tuhāḍī patanī sahī hai....., tusīṁ kītā sī...???

( teree beevee toh sahee hai toh tujhe kia hua?? )

Siddharth: mujhse poonch rahi hain???

Old Lady: horr nhi te keee???
