MICHELLE POV

It's Tuesday. The only day I don't have classes. Also, it's the day I try and relax. I'm a firm believer in taking care of one self. Usually I stay in and try to get a piece of mind.

My room door swung open "let's go get breakfast! I'm hungry and in need of coffee". Now my sister knows how I operate. Rolling my eyes "Michelle! Come on!".

"Fine! But we go get bagels. I'm not in the mood to sit at Ihop" I said.

She smiled "I can work with bagels! Come on let's go". She's lucky I'm already dressed. Well somewhat. Since I was trying to relax... I was in leggings and a sports bra. "Eww, you're wearing that old ass hat?".

"You still wearing that old ass face?!" I said. She laughed "damn! That was a good come back". The bagel store wasn't far so we decided to walk it. Plus, it was nice out for once.

Living in Seattle... the weather is.. well... gloomy. Always gloomy. So a sunny day is something to appreciate. My sister held the door open for me. "What are you getting?" I asked.

"Probably the everything bagel with cream cheese and jelly" she answered.

"Yuck! I'm just going for the multigrain bagel with plant based butter" I said.

"You millennials are always trying to save the earth. It's sickening" she said.

Tapping her on the shoulder "and when I put live you then you'll think twice. People already assume your my mother". Our turn was up.

"Michelle?" The voice asked. Looking from under my hat it was him. "Hey! Didn't know you worked here..."

My sister nudged me "ohhh so this is that white boy. He's cute! Hey I'm Michelle's sister, Whitney". He blushed "Tatum! So... what are you ladies ordering?".

"Miss plant based... muiltgrsin bagel with plant based butter. I'll take an everything bagel with jelly and cream cheese" my sister said.

"Disgusting!" I said.

"Well there's nothing wrong with being conscious on what you eat" Tatum said.

I smiled at sister "well he agrees".

"Both millennials! Of course he does" she said.

"How much do we owe you?" I asked holding my card. He shook his head "it's on me".

"Say what? We have to come here more often" my sister said. Shaking my head "look we can pay". He leaned in close "don't worry.. I got you".

He handed us our bags "enjoy".

My sister nodded "we sure will". Back home we sat at the table and devoured our food. "That was nice of your friend" my sister said.

"He didn't have to do that. I would've paid" I said.

"Michelle, I know you are not slow. He did that because he likes you. Come on now!" She said. Ignoring her comment and went to grab the extra napkins out of the bag. That's when I saw his number on it.

My sister saw what I saw and nudged me "oh my gawd... he's too cute! Call him!". Pushing her out of my face "I'm tired. I'm going back to my room". Leaving the napkin on the table.

The next day I was home trying to work on a pending paper that was due in like five hours. I was almost done. My phone lot up with a odd number. Now usually I don't answer these calls but I did anyway. Putting it on speaker "hello?"

"Michelle?" A deep voice said.

"New phone who this?" I joked.

He laughed "it's Tatum".

"Pause, how in the hell you get my number? You do know stalking is an actual crime?!.. you do t watch law and order?" I asked.

"Wow, your sister called me saying I could call you. She gave me the number. And yes, I do know stalking is a crime. I'm studying forensics and took a criminal justice class" he said.

"Whitney will be handled. But she shouldn't have done that" I said.

"Would you have called otherwise?" He asked.

"Tatum look... you seem like a nice guy. But I'm not sure I'm ready for anything" I said. There was a short pause...

"I'm okay with that...how about I show you what it would be like if we were together?" He asked.

"Not interested. I have a paper to write so.." I said.

"I'll hang up if you agree to at least hang out with me. Let me take you out" he said. I sighed "lord, fine!".

That's when the call ended. He's one annoying white boy. I'm going to get Whitney back.
