|YOU|

We stepped off the ship and I lagged behind my new friends as they made their way down the dock.

"I'm so happy to be off that boat," Alibaba said, clasping his hands behind his head as he walked. "Sinbad always throws the best welcoming parties! I can't wait to eat the feast he has planned!"

Aladdin began to drool. "Yeah~"

I shook my head and caught up to walk with Morgiana. "Where are we going exactly?"

She pointed up a long, wide street that stretched from where we stood all the way through the city. At the top was a pearly white palace that glint in the sunlight.

"That's where we're going?" I asked, my mouth hanging open.

"What did you expect? He's a King, and not a very humble one. He's gonna have a huge palace," Alibaba said.

I kept staring at the palace as it got closer, trying to distract myself from the butterflies in my chest.

I was about to see Sinbad for the first time in ten years. My whole being had yearned for this day, but now that it was here all I wanted to do was hightail it to the farthest corner of the earth.

Once we reached the front gates, a man dressed in white robs approached us. His cheeks were speckled with light freckles, and his soft smile felt welcoming.

"Ja'far!" Aladdin called out, waving to the stranger as we approached.

"Hello Aladdin," Ja'far greeted. "Alibaba, Morgiana. I'm glad you arrived safely. Sinbad has your rooms all prepared for your arrival."

I wrapped the free ends of my rope belt around my hands, pulling them tight until the rough fivers bit into my skin. The sensation was comforting, and kept my mind off how uncomfortable I was.

"Ja'far, this is (Y/N). She was a sla—" Morgiana elbowed Alibaba in the ribs before he could finish his sentence.

He shot her a glare before continuing. "We met her in Balbadd. Is it too late for a spare room?"

Ja'far leaned so that he could see me over Alibaba's shoulder. Giving me a welcoming smile.

"Unfortunately, we have no more rooms available in the guest wing, but let me see what I can do. For now she can join one of you until I can arrange something."

"Thank you," I said with a bow.

Ja'far seemed surprised by my actions, but moved on quickly. "This is Rupal. She'll be taking you to your rooms and later this evening she will also escort you to the feast. Sinbad will greet the four of you then."

Alibaba, Aladdin and Morgiana all thanked Ja'far before following the female servant towards their rooms.

"Oh! And since the three of you have been here before, make sure one of you gives Miss (Y/N) a tour."

"Got it!" Alibaba called out.

Once we were alone again, I untwisted my hands from the rope. In some places it had rubbed my skin raw, but I didn't mind the feeling.

Rupal showed Aladdin and Alibaba to their rooms first. Then she lead Morgiana and I through the winding hallways to her room.

"This will be your quarters, ma'am," she said to Morgiana.

The young servant girl opened the double doors made of solid wood to reveal one of the most amazing sights I'd ever seen. Alibaba was right. The rooms in Sinbad's palace put the ship to shame.

The wall across from the door was lined with all windows, overseeing the surrounding city and ocean. They were also framed with thick, brightly coloured curtains that matched the linens hanging from the posts of the wide, plush bed.
