The day hadn't been going as I had planned.

I woke up half an hour late for transfiguration, my dorm mates not bothering to wake me up, and was given a detention and lost points for Hufflepuff, my house. Then, In herbology, I was attacked by a baby mandrake and nearly had my finger bitten off, leading me to pull away from the vicious plant with all my might and collapse into a table of pot plants. Professor Sprout pitied me enough to not deduct any points and sent me to Madame Pomfrey to clean up the scratches over my body. Returning to the Great Hall after being in the hospital wing an owl swooped by and I tripped down half a flight of stairs, fortunately the only thing wounded was my pride as the eyes of a dozen students looked on. By the time lunch was over I was really done with my day and just wanted to return to my dorm and take a nap however I still had two hours of history of magic to attend. Joy.

I left the Great Hall trying to shake off the frown attempting to settle on my face, if I walked a bit faster I could possibly make it to class on time. I pep talked myself under my breath, I only had to make it through a couple more hours, I could do this, I would not cry because my day wasn't perfect.

I opened the door with less than a minute until the bell went and stepped into the classroom. Instead of looking up to see the class however I was covered in a cold, green, sticky substance.

I shrieked and dropped my books and heard the sound of laughter echo from the people within and above all the cheers were the loud voices of Fred and George Weasley.

"Stunning aim George,"

"Thanks Fred,"

Before they could continue their conversation a loud sob escaped from my lips. I couldn't hold in the tears anymore, the tragic day had ruined me. I went to turn and run to my common room but slipped on the unknown substance which still covered all of myself and a metre around me.

I fell to my knees, face now covered in green goo and tears, still hearing the chuckles of a few classmates. I crawled until I was mostly out of the sticky stuff then walked as quickly as I could to the Hufflepuff showers. I wiped my eyes so I could somewhat see where I was stumbling. Filch would be livid when he found the trail I left behind but at that moment I couldn't think of anything other than my embarrassment. Was I purposely targeted by the twins because they knew how embarrassed I became?

I finally dragged my soaking body to the showers and sat still fully clothed under the warm stream of water crying limply as it was too much effort to hold anything in. After a while I pulled myself out of the shower, dressed into some comfy clothes and picked missed bits of green from my damp hair.

I made a decision to stay in my dorm, even though the common room would still be empty, I wanted to avoid people at all costs. I got started on my endless homework, I would wallow in my misery if I didn't busy myself so I aimed to get as much done before detention with McGonagell, I wasn't planning on putting myself through a mortifying supper.

Hours passed and I polished off my potions and charms homework, finally making my way down to the common room avoiding the eyes of anyone who happened to look my way. I clambered out of the room only to be standing right in front of a Weasley twin. I swerved to avoid him but he put his arm out in front of me.

"Y/n,"

I stopped and looked up to him, sadness finally transformed into anger, "what?" I grimaced.

"I'm sorry," he muttered looking down, "Fred and I just wanted to have some fun, I didn't mean to make you upset, it won't happen again I promise."

"Okay," I responded, my anger disapating slightly, "I have a detention to get to,"

"Y/n please wait, just, just please let me talk for a second."

I looked back to the pleading boy, unable to leave him in his desperation I placed a hand on his shoulder and looked at him in concern, "are you alright? Do you need to sit down and talk?"

He let out a sheepish laugh, "wow I should definitely be asking you that instead. But please sit down with me."

I nodded and led him a bit further down the corridor so we could sit against a wall. "What's happening?"

"You, I want to get to know you, but I think I might have just ruined my chances, I'm incredibly sorry, I really am,"

"Well," I began, "I'm willing to forget about this, put it behind me, we can be friends."

He looked over the moon for a moment but his smile quickly turned into a sad frown, "just- just friends?"

My face flushed pink, never would I have imagined George Weasley wanting to be anything more than friends with me, "uh I uh.." I stuttered unsurely

He looked into his lap sadly and I noticed the top of his ears turn red, obviously embarrassed, "I should probably go then," he muttered.

He heaved himself up but I grabbed his hand before he could walk away, "no, don't go,that's not at all what I meant," my face was getting redder by the word but I continued speaking, "it would be quite nice... Being more than friends,"

I looked up to him to fund the largest grin I had ever seen on his face, and that was definitely saying something. Without a second thought he heaved me up and pulled me to his chest, hugging me. The redness in my cheeks refused to die down but so did the smile plastered on my face.

"George," I mumbled into his chest.

"Yes you beautiful being,"

"George," I laughed, "I'm going to be late to my detention,"

He reluctantly pulled away from me with a pout, "alright then," he said while linking his arm in mine, "looks like I'll have to walk you there,"

"But George it's the other way,"

"Now miss y/n that is really nothing to worry about," he responded with a cheeky grin.
