Where I Found You

Part 2

I set the food near stove and I stared at Erik,as he looked at bills.

'Mommy what are these?' He asked as he looked at the bills. He lifted an envelope and he gazed at it before staring at me. Your heart fluttered at sound of him calling you mom. Even tough you weren't his mom and you are his older sister,you were glad he even tought he had mom. It sucks knowing you don't have family.

'It's just my work , do you want your coloring book sweetie?' I asked. He nodded his head as he placed the envelope down. I smiled as I grabbed it and gave it to him.

'Here's your crayons' I said as I handed them to him. His small fingers wrapped around the crayons and he began flip through the coloring book. I smiled at him before walking back to the stove and making him quesadillas. I stared at Erik as he happily colored in a puppy. I felt so bad that he doesn't have a mother or that his father left him. He left us. He thinks I'm his mum and I'm just scared to tell him the truth. And to my suprise , he never called Jason his father. Erik was always picky with men. After all,his father abendoned him. Jason wasn't the best guy either. I still didn't know why I was with him. He comes back home almost everyday yelling at me. Whatever I do is a mistake in Jason's eyes. He treats me like crap and he even beats me. But the reason I never leave is because one, I don't have any money,and two, if we ever leave,I know he would find us and he will hurt me badly. Jason doesn't even trust me going to the store. Even Jason knows his actions, but I act like it's nothing,only to smooth him and not make him hit me again.

'Here you go' I said as I set plate full of cut quesadillas infront of Erik.

'Thanks' He squeked as he began to eat. I smiled at Erik but my smiled faded once I heared the door open.
