In the Dark
by Omniscientific

The prologue made me really excited. While the blurb is mysterious, it didn't have such a strong impact. I liked the way the story is narrated, and the way the characters are introduced. While there are some typos, nothing too serious came to my attention.

As the story progressed, I was convinced that the author has a way with words. The descriptions are nice and the conversations, though there aren't too many, are interesting to follow.

The beginning of the story had me on the edge of my seat. That being said, I had high expectations that weren't completely met. While it was never boring to read, I felt like something was missing. I think that the mystery wasn't fully achieved due to the author's decision to reveal "the culprit" as early as the second chapter. Everything after that, though it was interesting, felt a bit pointless. With each passing chapter, I waited for something more to happen and nothing did.

In conclusion, I think this story is worth reading as an example of great writing. I would only recommend the author to do something to make the second half of this short story more interesting.
