Though born in the age of Kali,
My soul hails from Dwapar.
Been gifted with riches in this birth,
Yet my heart is that of a simple cowherd.

Defying the rules of rebirth,
My memories are still intact.
O Sakha! Listen to this is friend.
I left my 'land' long ago to come back to the place which once was 'home'.

How crazy it is to see the lanes where we played games have houses and bazaars over it?
There are temples enshrined in your name.
Your magic is stiil alive!

My house no longer exists.
It got submerged under Time- the biggest killer!
All I see are visions and memories which were my life centuries ago.

O Sakha, I see you breaking pots.
O Sakha, I see you playing with us.
O Sakha, I see you troubling the gopis.
O Sakha, I see you playing the flute.

I am still dressed in modern outfits.
By profession I am a professor in science.
But how do I tell them about you?
How do I explain that God himself walked over here?
How do I tell them that God was and is my friend?

O Sakha, they say that you aren't real.
O Sakha, they say that you break hearts.
O Sakha, they don't believe in you.
O Sakha, they say that what you did was false.

I walk by the lanes of Vrindavan one more time.
To reminisce the good old days,
To think about the mischief we did.
I hope you do too!

After all,
Purano shei diner kotha bhoolbi ki re haye?
(Alas! Would you forget the old days?)

Hello! Here's another piece I wrote

Hello! Here's another piece I wrote. The song lyric is a Bengali song by Rabindranath Tagore.

I am not Bengali.

I lived in Kolkata for 3 years and I fell in love with the culture and songs. I am Odia btw.

The idea behind this: the person is from Kaliyug and has his memories intact as a gopa. Being from Bengal he at the end quotes the song.

I hope you like it.
