Chapter 4
✩°̥࿐୨୧AURORA AND CAROLINE PARTED WAYS after they exchanged numbers outside of the store. Caroline had waved goodbye and then called someone as she walked away. Just as she sat down in her car her phone started ringing. She looked down at it curiously and sighed in relief when she saw that is just Damon. She answered it and put it up to her ear, "What's up, Salvatore?"
"You up for a road trip?" Damon asked.
"Always." Aurora replied, a small smirk gracing her lips. She had a feeling she was in for some fun.
She arrived at the Salvatore Boarding House around ten minutes after Damon had called her. She smiled at Damon as she exited her car, but her eyes furrowed in confusion as she noticed another man. She walked up to them and Damon gave her a small smile, "Aurora, this is Alaric, Alaric, this is Aurora. Now that the introductions are over, let's go." he said as he turned around and moved towards what she assumed was Alaric's car.
Aurora glanced over at Alaric and found him staring at her with his eyebrows furrowed in confusion, "Nice to meet you, Alaric."
"Please, call me Ric."

THE CAR TRIP TO MEMPHIS, Tennessee was much more awkward than Aurora had expected it to be. She assumed it was due to the fact that Alaric didn't know her and was hesitant to talk about things around her. It didn't bother her too much. She just wished that they would've at least turned on the radio to get rid of the deafening silence. She silently tapped her fingers on her leg as she took in the scenery. There was tons of trees everywhere she looked, and it made her wish she was still on a beach somewhere in Florida.
"So, anyone want to tell me why we're here?" she asked as they pulled up to a large white house. She took off her seatbelt and opened the door. Damon and Alaric followed suit.
"We're seeing if this was where Stefan was." Damon replied as they all stepped out of the car, his phone started ringing and he quickly shut it off.
"Elena?" Alaric asked curiously. Damon shrugged in response and rolled his eyes. "I don't know why you just don't come clean and tell her where we are."
"You're soulmate is calling and you didn't answer?" Aurora asked curiously.
"Soulmate?" Alaric questioned in shock.
Damon shot her a glare, clearly aggravated with her words, "Way to drop the secret." He walked forward and chose to ignore Alaric's questioning eyes. He tried his hardest not to look at Aurora as he spoke his next words, he didn't want to see her curious expression, "Andie said this was a half-lead and I don't want to get her hopes up."
"Yeah, well, they're all half-leads, and I'm your accomplice. What do you want me to say to her?" Alaric asked as he looked around to see if there was anyone else in the area. "I'm practically living there. Why didn't you tell us she's your soulmate?"
"Still sleeping on the couch?"
"You know, I keep waiting for them to kick me out, but they don't and I don't know why. It's not like I'm helping or anything."
Damon hummed in response, and Aurora sighed. She was starting to get bored of the conversation. She walked forward, and just as she reached the door she could vaguely hear them talking about how it was too quiet. Aurora opened the door and the first thing she noticed was the blood that was everywhere. "Wow." she mumbled to herself.
Whoever had been there had truly made a mess of the place. There was blood smeared all across the wall and all over the floor. The sight of the blood didn't bother her, but the smell made her nose wrinkle in disgust. She followed the trail of blood and was surprised to find two dead girls sitting on a couch. Their heads looked as if they had been cut off and then sat back on their bodies.
Damon and Alaric came up and stood next to her, taking in the mess. Alaric groaned in disgust, "Vampire for sure." he said.
"It's Stefan for sure." Damon corrected as he walked into the room.
Aurora looked at him, confused, "How do you know?" She followed him into the room, careful to not step in any blood. Although, it was dried up so she doubted very much would get on her shoes.
"It's his signature." Damon said, as if it was obvious. "There's a reason they called him The Ripper." Aurora's eyes widened at the familiarity of the title as he continued speaking, "He feeds so hard he blacks out, rips them apart, but then when he's done, he feels remorse." he shook his head, "It's the damndest thing." He put his foot on the girls leg and pushed it, causing her head to fall off, "He puts the bodies back together." He stared at the head. "Definitely Stefan."
"I can't believe Stefan was, or is, The Ripper" she said in amazement. "The stories of what he used to do to his victims spread like wildfire years ago. Some thought he was just a myth that people created to strike fear into the hearts of people, others thought he was a demon, and some thought he was just a normal person with a sadistic mind."
Alaric looked at her, a questioning look never leaving his face, "You say that as if you were actually there." he noted. "But you're human. It's not possible."
"Oh it's definitely possible." Damon replied, "Aurora knew me whenever I was human."
Aurora nodded her head, "Yes. I did." she gave him a soft smile and then turned towards Alaric and began to tell him her story as Damon began preparing the bodies to burn.
