A/N: Don't start the song until I say, loves!

While the others had left to give them their privacy, Jaxon refused to leave Cassie's side as Madam Pomfrey checked on the Veela girl's vitals, giving her nervous glances every few moments. Even though her health began to improve almost immediately after he had found her, he had no idea how much if any damage was done to her.

"Well, Miss Malfoy," Madam Pomfrey said as she straightened up and looked down at the couple. "You were certainly in a bad spot; any longer without contact between you two and you would have fallen unconscious."

He felt immediately guilty at this, his mouth forming a thin line as he sighed heavily and looked down. As he did this, Cassie reached over to take his hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze as she looked back up at the Matron and asked, "But everything should be fine now, right?"

"You are showing improvement, yes," Madam Pomfrey nodded. "However I would recommend sorting out whatever needs to be handled between the two of you, or else this might happen again."

After a nod of understanding from Cassie, Madam Pomfrey left to check on her two other patients, leaving Jaxon and Cassie alone together. She looked down at him, sensing the overwhelming guilt that he was feeling.

"Jaxon, I'm alright," She said quietly, giving his hand another squeeze.

He was silent for a few moments before sighing heavily, turning his head towards her but keeping his eyes down. "Cass, I nearly killed you..."

"I wasn't that far yet," She said.

"No but you almost were." He looked up at her then, a mixture of sadness and frustration in his eyes. "I shouldn't have waited so long."

She frowned slightly but said, "It was a large decision; I don't blame you."

"You might not but I certainly do."

She sighed at this and shifted slightly on the bed so that she was facing him fully. "Jaxon, this is the rest of our lives. It's not a decision to take lightly and I understood that. That's partially why I waited to tell you; I didn't want to just spring it on you immediately in the beginning and freak you out."

"I was still being an idiot about it," He said quietly. "I didn't realize what the consequences were and didn't even bother to do any sort of research because all I could focus on was the fact that I wasn't expecting to find the one person I was supposed to be with so quickly."

"And again, I don't blame you," She said gently. "The only reason I even told you so quickly was because I didn't want you to read it from the article in the Prophet. Everyone in the school knows now that Sera, Nathan, Scorpius, and I are Veelas, and I was worried that you'd find out about it that way."

He shifted in his chair, glancing around nervously before sighing heavily again. "I still feel absolutely horrible for how I handled this..."

She couldn't help but smile at this, squeezing his hand again before leaning forward to rest her forehead against his. "Everything is all right now, I promise."

Though she could tell that his mood was lifting, she could tell he still felt guilty about it, and that guilt carried on through the rest of the day. After she had been released from the Hospital Wing, they left the castle to slowly walk around the grounds together.

"We haven't been on a walk together in a while," Jaxon said quietly.

Cassie smiled as she wrapped her arm around Jaxon's and leaned her head against his shoulder. "No, we haven't. I missed our walks."
