THEY WATCHED AS he sat down on a vacant seat with his permanent scowl. All of them propped themselves on their seats. He rested his arms on the table as he went straight to the point, "Not only have you burglarized my lab, set my chimp loose, conned your way into the Mexican Consulate, repeatedly stalked and attacked me, but you have, on numerous occasions, have called me.."

As he was about to finish his sentence, Klaus was back with a beverage in his hand while he sat down, "Hey Pop, how's it hangin'?"

Reginald looked at him strangely before continuing his sentence, "... 'Dad'."

Y/N had her eyes trained on the folded napkin in front of her, trying to not make any eye contact from the old mad who was sitting across her and Five, who was doing the opposite of what she was doing. His eyes fixated on their said father, focused as he listened intently as the man continued, "My reconnaissance tells me you're not CIA, not KGB, certainly not MI5, so... who are you?"

Everyone didn't know what would they answer to his question. And so, they avoided their gaze. That excluded Five from the bunch, "We're your children." He spoke up, catching his attention, "We're from the future." He explained, "In 1989, you adopted us all and trained us to fight against the end of the world."

Y/N noticed he forgot one little detail, "Excuse me, there's a correction." she chimed, "You adopted the rest of them in 1989 and then in 1997, you picked me up from the streets and claimed that you were adopting me even though there wasn't any paperwork that said so." She pointed at herself before she beckoned them to continue their discussion.

"Called us the Umbrella Academy." The boy finished. As he did so, Klaus lifted his glass in confirmation.

Reginald looked at him questioningly, "Why on earth would I adopt six--"

"Seven." Allison suddenly corrected, not including Y/N into the bunch. Which she was alright with. "One of us isn't here."

"Dead." Diego followed, "One of us is dead."

Suddenly Klaus turned harshly behind him after he took a sip of his beverage, "Yeah, ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba." It was as if he was shutting someone up even if the rest of them didn't see anybody, "Enough of that now." He lectured. The girl knew right away that he was talking to Ben. “Don't worry, Ben. We'll find a way to get you noticed by the old man.” She consoled telepathically.

“Thanks N/N.” Ben replied as Klaus gestured for his adopted father to continue, who had his eyes narrowed at him before moving on, "Regardless, what would possess me to adopt seven ill-mannered malcontents and take in a homeless girl who seems to act more like the age of the rest?" Luther grumbled at his father's the last statement.

"We all have special abilities." Number Five answered.

"Special? In what sense?" The old man interrogated.

Y/N was about to elaborate it to him, but Luther beat her to it, "In the superpower sense." He said.

Of course, Sir Hargreeves wasn't easily convinced, "Call me old-fashioned, but I'm a stickler for a pesky little thing called evidence." He remarked, "Show me."

"Everybody wants to see powers all of a sudden." Allison scoffed with sarcasm while she continued drinking her beverage. Luther couldn't help but interfere the old man as well, "We're not circus animals, okay? We're not gonna bounce balls on our noses and clap our hands like seals for your amusement." He snarled.

All of a sudden, Diego threw a knife across the table and curved it towards the wall, almost giving the old man a cut, showing off his skills as the evidence Reginald was looking for. After he did so, Reginald looked at him blankly before pulling out the lid of his pen and wrote something down on his book.
