THERE WERE A lot of VHS tapes in the memory void than Y/N had expected.

She could've sworn her fingertips were developing blisters from pressing the play button in every TV screen. At the same time, she was so fixated on the task that she sometimes forgot how long she'd been standing there shoving VHS-formatted memories into VCRs, especially when certain memories were very dear to her.

She saved the 14th of October last as part of her dreaded to witness the memory herself. Though it was only a matter of time before it was the only tape left.

Y/N let her eyes graze upon each memory for one last time, until her eyes landed on the last TV where it showed her reflection through the blank screen. She could feel herself hesitate when she was already holding the VHS tape by the slot.

Nonetheless, she forced herself to pluck up the courage and let last last memory tape play. She dreaded for it, yet she couldn't take her eyes off the screen. She felt the need to sit down as the mission alarm began blinking through the TV screen.

October 16, 2006

"Step lively, children! We have a mission to do."

Reginald called upon the Umbrella Academy, hastily making his way to the living room to prepare them for what has to come. "Number One, round up the children." He ordered Luther.

Spaceboy was quick to oblige, "Let's go! Get your asses in gear!" He clasped on his hands. There was nothing better than a mission in the middle of the night. At least, that's what Luther thought. He was already up and ready to go, much like his brother who was as eager as he was. "My man, Diego." He exclaimed, patting him on the shoulder.

"My ass is always in gear." Diego smirked.

On the other hand, Y/N despised it dearly. She grew to hate evening missions despite it being a frequent occurrence. It was her only time to relax, being in strenuous training on a daily basis. But with the desire to get this mission over and done with, she was dressed and out before Luther could call the old man on her.

When she did, the sound of Allison struggling against a wasted Klaus from the bathroom had caught her attention. "Are you kidding me, Klaus? You just got back from rehab!" Allison grunted.

"I'm California sober, Allison!" Klaus slurred.

The girl shook her head in disapproval when Luther merely urged them to hurry up. When he saw her, he thought it was best to pass on that task, "Help Allison, will you?"

"Why, so you'd have time to kiss some old ass?" Y/N scoffed in reply, rolling her eyes at the fact that he could've helped them out himself. He already saw Allison struggling, after all. And he had super strength -- he could've already pulled Klaus straight up.

"Dad said to round you guys up, not sober one of us up." He shot back.

"That's literally a part of his orders."

Nonetheless, its not as though the Moldovans were waiting for them. Y/N planned to help Allison anyway. With that, she trudged towards the bathroom and straight to the sink to fill a cup halfway with cold water and snatched Klaus' flask with her telekinesis.

"You wanna sober up or you wanna get splashed in the face?" Y/N warned before Klaus could protest against Y/N taking his liquor away.

From that moment, Klaus knew she wasn't in the mood to fool around. It's not that she was the only one who could straighten him up, but she was definitely the only one who cared enough to be directly assertive when push comes to shove. Defeated, he rubbed his face as he sat up from the bathtub. "Fine, I'll sober up." He said to her.
