THE ENTIRE DOWNTOWN area of the city was having a bleak afternoon like clockwork.

Groceries and other commodities were sold; pedestrians were crossing before the vehicles; and the others were simply filling their day with some activity to prevent themselves from succumbing to this pesky thing known as boredom. Simply put, to these people, it was just an ordinary day.

It wasn't until their ears shot up to their stereos, where a particular song was playing in each and every one of them.

Before the others knew it, a stampede grew among them as Muse's Map of the Problematique continued to run on the FM station. It was a song many devout people -- particularly, the Keepers -- held importance, as it is relevant to the movement.

The others were confounded as said Keepers just went up and left their posts, including parents who decided to follow suit rather than stay with their children. It was all the more appalling, when all of them were carrying guns and melees with a fierce look plastered on their faces.

The nonbelievers have no idea where they were headed, and they were too frightened to be in the way. Quite frankly, the Keepers were too determined to care.

They had something to protect; something to ensure that it would flourish them smoothly towards a new life: the Cleanse.

Which is believed to be happening at real time, at Tatfords.

As the founders of this movement, Jean and... Gene arrived fashionably, standing on the back of a member's pickup truck with arms raised to the extreme believers of their phenomenon. The Keepers responded with the same gesture knowingly, as if they were preaching to the choir.

"Keepers!" Jean began, "We are nearing the moment of return to our rightful lives!"

She continued, "No longer will we need to live in the memories of another place or another time."

The crowd hooted and nodded in agreement to her declaration. Already, the Thibideaus felt victorious. "The nonbelievers will try to break theough our lines and stop the Cleanse. We cannot let that happen!" Jean exclaimed.

"So now is the time for vigilance!" Gene followed through the clamoring, "Now is the time for sacrifice! Because, goddamn it, we're the only effers brave enough to see this through!"

"ARE YOU WITH US!?"

"YEAH!"

"ARE YOU WITH US!?"

"YEAH!"

Their horde of Keepers continued their uproar without a care about the way people perceived them outside their circle. What mattered was the fact that they were doing their jobs as believers to make way for the inevitable; to protect the key to unlocking the Cleanse.

As if they even have the right key.

The couple couldn't help but slump themselves on Y/N's couch in unison after their feet have temporarily given up on them. Their way back was, indeed, a shorter trip than before -- thanks to Number Five's cipher, though the whole set of train rides was still exhausting.

"I can't feel my legs," Y/N groaned. Her fiancé seconded wholeheartedly.

They stared at the ceiling, with eyelids fighting the urge to close down. "It's nice to see nothing's destroyed." Five spoke.

"...Yet," Y/N followed. It was quite hard to focus on dealing with the apocalypse when all she could think about was that they were home; and how much she's missed rotting in bed. "Do we have to go?" She abruptly asked Five, who welcomed her request to be held as she lazily draped her arm over his torso.
