FIVE LOOKED FOR her warmth with his arm. He was under the impression that he would find Y/N to hold while he slept, even when it was already past noon. Though the coldness on her side of the bed proved him empty-handed, for he was the only one resting in it.
The moment he came to this realization, he sat up and rubbed the grogginess off his eyes as he followed up with a yawn. He usually was a morning person, but the chill in the air made oversleeping well worth it. That said, his thoughts remained centralized to how this would be nicer if his fiancée was in his arms.
It was the very reason he got out of bed. He came out of their room, looking for Y/N with his mind still set on nestling in bed together for the rest of the day.
By the time he stepped out of the doorway, he spotted her from afar. She was standing by the greenhouse, lost in thought while she stared out the window sills. The sight made him let out a sigh in content the same way she did.
It was evident that he was absolutely smitten. Though he was unaware of what she's been doing up so early, when they could rest easy nowadays.
He caught her off guard, although Y/N relaxed by the time she realized it was Five who gently snaked his arms around her waist. She felt his warm chest come into contact with her back. He had just woken up and was still half asleep when he snugged himself in the crook of her neck. His lips were softly brushing against her skin.
Y/N leaned back on him with a sigh. This time, it was out of relief. She hoped he couldn't tell the difference with his state. "Hi, honey," she greeted softly, welcoming his arms that trapped her in an embrace. "You okay?"
The truth is, she's been honing her myosotis behind his back these past few months. She's been letting it roam free around the garden whenever he wasn't looking -- such as now, where he chose to sleep in.
"I will be if you come back to bed with me," Five wearily murmured. His voice was above a whisper, but it loud enough for her to hear at close proximity.
Y/N shook her head in refusal, as much as her secret training endeavors had plagued her mind to consider giving in.
The first time Y/N was able to do said training, she found it completely surreal; and frightening. There was a moment that she denied the myosotis. She realized it was a responsibility unceremoniously thrusted upon her, which made her feel as though she isn't cut out for an ability as great as this.
It took her a lot to accept it -- to figure out how fate decided on this. Frankly, she still is wondering. In the meantime, she just worked on it while they continued to deliberately buy their time. This also meant she had to refrain herself from faltering like Jell-O in front of Five every time she used it.
She turned to the young old man she calls her husband-to-be. "Or we get our day started now before dinner," she opted out.
"That works too." He felt himself grin shortly after she gave him a kiss. It was a brief one, but it lingered and it drew him in to chase for another one. With that, he let his body adjust to the lively part of the afternoon's atmosphere.
"I can't believe it's been 7 years," he said to her. It had almost slipped from their minds that today was the anniversary of their timeline-hopping journey, hence the reason for such a slow day.
"You're not getting sick of me after all this time, are you?" Y/N interjected, teasingly whilst her arms looped around his neck.
"Impossible," Five uttered with a tone so seriously and deeply adoring towards Y/N. They're a stickler for a blissful thing called love, as it happens.
Until then, the two of them did decide to do something to get them started on what's left of their day, per Y/N's suggestion.
Yet they did not move; not for anything productive or mundane, at least.
