"OKAY, I THINK we've got something, Delores." Five spoke up after solving in silence with Y/N on his bed, "It's tenuous, but promising."
"Who you talkin' to? What is all this?" Luther asked as he walked in the room. Y/N was still writing stuff down on the wall with the chalk in her dusty hands, "A probability map." She answered.
"Probability of what?" He asked as he analyzed Five's whole room that was filled with calculations.
"Of whose death could save the world." Five answered as he turned back to his wall, "We've narrowed it down to four." He pointed out the names with the chalk.
"Are you saying one of these people causes the apocalypse?" Luther asked. Y/N wanted to facepalm because of Luther's statement, but she decided to make herself busy with double checking her solutions instead.
"No, I'm saying their death might prevent it." The boy corrected and continued writing on the wall.
He was relieved that the silence was back. That he could be in the zone once again."I'm not following." Until Luther had to admit that he didn't understand a thing. Y/N exclaimed a sigh. What part of 'their death might prevent it' does he not understand? She asked herself internally.
"Time is fickle, Luther. The slightest alteration in events can lead to massively different outcomes in the time continuum." Five explained.
"The butterfly effect." The girl chimed. Luther nodded in understanding.
"So all I have to do is find the people with the greatest probability of impacting the timeline, wherever they may be, and kill them." The boy finished. He got down the bed and wrote the names on his notebook. Y/N finished up when the stick of chalk she had been using became short that she couldn't write with it anymore.
Luther got a closer look at the four names on the wall Five had written. "Milton Greene." He read, "So who's he, a terrorist or something?"
"I believe he is a a gardener." Luther snapped his head at his brother in disbelief. "You can't be serious." He argued.
"Well, as a matter of fact, he is." Y/N remarked as she sat beside Delores.
"Wait, this is madness, Five. You–" Number One looked over to him who was pulling out a rifle from under his bed. His eyes widened, "Wh-Where'd you get that?"
"In Dad's room." The boy replied as he unzipped the bag, "I think he used it to kill a rhinoceros." He picked the rifle up and checked inside for ammo, "It's similar to the model I used at work." He explained as he closed it. " Nice shoulder fit and highly reliable."
Luther's eyes darted to his sister, who was intrigued enough to just watch as the scene in front of her unfolds. "Y/N, you're okay with this?" He questioned.
"Hey, man, I'm just tedious of what's happening already. It's either one's life would be taken or billions of it. Take your pick." The girl affirmed.
"But you can't– this guy Milton is just an innocent man." Number One argued.
"It's basic math. His death could potentially save the lives of billions. If I did nothing, he'd be dead in four days anyway. The apocalypse won't spare anyone."
"We don't do this kind of thing." Luther defended.
"We are not doing anything. I am." Five corrected.
"I can't let you go and kill innocent people. No matter how many lives you save." Luther stubbornly declared.
"Well good luck stopping me."
