Callie's POV

"I seriously don't see why you have to do this." I said as I tried to mask the panic that was in my voice.

"Well you haven't really proved to me lately-"

I cut her off. "I've been doing everything you want me to do. It's only been a few days. You act like-"

"No Callie, listen to me. What I'm saying is that you aren't doing a very good job at earning back my trust."

"I literally didn't do anything. I swear. Your just gonna find old ones." I said as we walked through the front door of the house.

"Old ones? What does that mean." Stef questioned firmly.

"You know what it means." I snapped back at her. I honestly hated saying the words. They felt like a heavy weight and I hated seeing Stef sad. I hated hurting her.

I heard her take a deep breath as she ushered me up the stairs to head to her bedroom.

"Just so you know, these checks are going to be happening more often. I just want to make sure you are safe." Stef said.

"Oh my god, relax. You act like I'm gonna go jump off a bridge. I'm seriously fine. It was a one time thing and it won't happen again." I said as we got to the top of the stairs.

"Callie, you need to understand where I am coming from." Stef said shortly.

"No, you need to understand where I'm coming from. These aren't your feelings, they are mine." I said as my voice rose with every word.

"And that's why I am trying to understand your feelings but you shut down on me. You don't let me in and then we just run in circles Cals." Stef said sounding frustrated as we entered into her bedroom.

I was truly dreading this. Stef knew that I had cut on my arm because she had seen it. What she didn't know was that I had old scars on my stomach, hips, and thighs.

"Okay, take off your shirt and pants and spin around for me." Stef said shortly as she sat down on her bed.

"What, are you crazy? Thats weird!" I said.

"It's like you are in your bathing suit. Relax. The longer you make this, the more agonizing it's gonna be." My mom said in a firm but loving voice. It wasn't that I felt embarrassed about her seeing me half naked, it was about the old marks on my body. I wasn't sure what her reaction was going to be.

"Callie girl. Please just do it. I will wait here all day." She said more calmly as I knew she could see me contemplating in my head.

I sighed as I stood in front of her. I looked into her intense eyes that were so full of love.

I awkwardly turned around as I began taking off my top leaving me in just my black bra. I could tell my mom was staring at me.

"Okay, face me." She said.

I slowly turned to face her so the front of my body was showing. Her eyes scanned my stomach.

"How long ago did you do those?" She asked. I was surprised at how calm she was.

I shrugged my shoulders.

"Okay. Put your top back on and take off your pants." My mom said as she could tell I wasn't going to say anything more.

I quickly threw my shirt back on. I then nervously fidgeted with the button on my jeans debating on if I should argue.

"Do the ones on your thighs look like the ones on your stomach?" My mom questioned. I couldn't bare to look her in the eyes as I instead nodded at the ground. My mom knew how uncomfortable of a topic this was for me but then again, I had sort of put this on myself.
